What is this?

Can someone tell me what the heck this is? Where should it be plugged in? Or what is it for?

I would start by tracing it back and see where it goes, I had a plug like that turns out it was for the light under my hood

Will do!

Jeep was running without it but that was before I started fixing things that someone else "rigged" to work around parts that were no longer working. I'm basically reverse-engineering, if you will, all the short cuts take to bypass sensors that keep the engine from blowing up

Think that little plug/wire is for A/C which I do not have. Or some other accessory or maybe a hood light.

Thanks. Pics help me out a lot when I'm trying to do a repair or replacement, so I figure there are other people like that out there too.

I'm trying to document everything I do so that I can post pics in case any one else has the same trouble!
