I only track my mileage because my gas gauge hasn't worked for six years.
Fill up --- reset trip meter --- fill up again before 300 miles or walk. (20x15)

But, if I was getting 10 while everyone else was getting 15 I'd wonder.
I would look for leaks in the driveway.
Maybe I'd go next door to see if my neighbor had gasoline breath.

@283 YJ . Lol I damn sure didn't. When I was shopping for my YJ I Googled the specs. I had to look twice. 17 mpg from a 4 cyl.? Then I realized it's a carborated engine not fuel injected. Currently my YJ which has 158K miles on the engine. It get 14 mpg.

Filled up tonight 15.3 mpg. That's 95% in town driving. On the highway, it goes to 17.

Filled up yesterday, 18.9. The tank before that was 17.8. Usually though, it's 16.5. all mixed driving. For some reason, I get better mpg when my wife rides with me.

Old thread but I bought mine as a commuter since I got sick and tired of 9-11mpg in that one-ton monster that I owned for a grand total of 6 weeks. To be honest I just wanted a straight 6 with a 5 speed behind it and fell into a 91 Renegade. Had one tank of fuel through it so far and got 18mpg. I'll take that all day long but would be happier with less mileage if parts of my Jeep didn't fly off on the highway and get crushed by traffic.

We've all experienced little 'surprises' that the PO has left for us.
Epoxy a mirror?? Probably cost more to epoxy the mirror to the door than the screws that the factory uses.

Good Luck, L.M.

2.5 with AC Delco plugs (yeah I know), new coil, new distributor, new wires, 5 spd, 4.10 gears, and only about 200 miles on a fresh oil change with Lucas and a seafoam treatment gets 17.

Oh btw it's got 312,769 miles on it as of 4:30 this afternoon.
