what size are the speakers in the dash?

What size are the dash speakers in the yj's? Im thinking of getting new ones and I want them to fit like the factory ones

they are 4x6, but most aftermarket speakers wont fit. they fit size wise, but the after market speakers are designed to be mounted into something, not mounted face first against a steel plate. without a spacer plate, the foam surround hits and you lose the sound quality.
I made spacer plates for mine, but i have seen a few models in crutchfield that already have the spacer mounted on the front of it. do some research before you buy is all that i'm sayin.

I used two extra nuts on the speaker studs, treaded them down the studs to create space then mounted the speaker.

Thank you for the help guys. Im getting ready to drive across country and I wanna be able to hear music when im driving down the highway with the top off lol
