What's the stock rearview mirror size?

I ordered a replacement rearview mirror from Quadratec and it seems bigger than what I remember my original mirror being. Anyone know the measurements of the original mirror? I guess length would be good enough. Also if someone knows who sells something closer to the original would be great.

Ive purchased two so far and they both were too big and didnt fit the mount right.
All the used I've found have the same delaminating issues.
Ours are unusually short to clear the visors.

Im still on the hunt.

Same issue here... Can't find a replacement that's the same size as original.

The stock mirror is just under 8.5". I grabbed a mirror from a Saturn ion at the pull and pay. Its bigger than stock but doesn't cause any problems. It has a compass, temperature gauge and it automatically dims when bright lights approach from behind. Easy install and cost $10.

How did you get the temp to work? Did you pull the sensor too? How did you wire the whole thing?

The sensor hangs behind the radiator on the Saturn. I cut the wires a few inches from the sensor and I cut the wires to the plug on the back of the mirror.
On my Jeep, I soldered new wires to the plug on the back of the mirror, tucked them into the windshield weather strip all the way around to the bottom, through the wiper motor hole and behind the dash. There are four wires, two for the sensor, one for power and one for ground. I plugged the power wire into one of the switched auxiliary posts in the fuse box and grounded the other. The sensor has a little pronged thingy that snaps into a small hole. On the bottom passenger side of the grill/radiator support, there is a hole that the sensor snaps into perfectly. I snapped the sensor in the hole and tucked the wire into the headlight wire loom back to the dash. I don't know if the sensor is really supposed to snap into a hole as it was just dangling in both Saturns I looked at, but I really like the way it fits
I like the auto dim feature as really tones down the red and blue lights flashing in my face while I'm being pulled over.

That is a bad ass mod, bad impulse!

My two cents on this issue are to find a good used one. I replaced mine when I first picked up this YJ a few years ago, and it was all rattling and crappy. Found a good condition used one and it's not jumping all over the place anymore.

Good luck!

Hey again Tex,

Just replaced mine last week, the Omix-ada fit like a glove and looks a lot like the original, and for only $20.
