Wife says no more

I started painting my YJ, Metalic Green, got the doors done and the hood, next was the top and the saddle in front of the windsheld, she says I am putting to much on it, I wanted it to be two tone, every thing above the hood green, every thing below white.

Your opinion please, so I can get back to work.

I was going to paint it all green, but thought it would look good two tone, if it don't, I have more paint, it might look better with a black top, simi gloss maybe.

Gotta agree, all green with a black top. It is looking good as you paint it, though.

If you want to keep some white accents, maybe try the top of the hood and the roll bar as white and the rest green. I do like the shade of green you chose.

Do what you want, its your Jeep. If she doesnt like it, she doesnt have to ride in it....

Personally, im more inclined to leave it all white, but its not my Jeep.

I think she said no more.was the price of the paint, I haven't bought the clear coat yet.

I made the mistake of asking her what see though so far, before I was done My bad, should of known better, I'll keep going as the weather permits, I don't have a heated shop, and this paint cures at 70 F.

I am leanning to the green with black top, but I have to try the two tone.
no it's not a jeep thing, it's just me.

At least continue from the hood over to the window frame. from the side it looks like you got a replacement hood from a green Jeep.

I will be continuing the green to the windsheld and up the frame.

I found out today wile running around with the doors off, had the Harley mirrors mounted in the door hing, just to be safe and legal, behold said the officer, son did you know that in the state of washington that a vehical the was built with doors mounted at the factory has got to have them on at all times wile driveing. NO SIR I did not, and by the way your just old enough to be my grand son, and yet you call me son? WE both had a cuckle, then he said i'll not right you up today, BUT get those doors back on, nice to see you had miorros, have a goog and safe 4th.
And I went straight home and put the doors back on, witch look like
S%&^#$T with out the top on, I need to fine a pear of half door.

I found this , I would read the statute yourself though.

Door and door latches
(49 CFR 571.208 & RCW 46.37.517 & WAC 204-10-022) and it seems to come down to this. If you have a hard top on your jeep that was designed to have hard doors then they must be on. If you are running with your soft top where the doors are designed to be removed then you are fine and if you are running with a bikini top then the vehicle is considered an open vehicle and no doors are required. In all cases you must comply with the restraint belt requirements.

I've heard more about people getting tickets for their treads extending past their fenders than I have about the doors.

Sounds like a bored cop or one with some kind of agenda.

The truth of the matter is Jeep doors, at least the YJ's do not meet any kind of side-impact safety requirements because they are not reinforced like cars are required to be.

Thank you for that link, I read the post then went right out and pulled the doors, drove it to work, at 6:00 a.m. man that was a cool refressing 20 mile trip, but it was great on the way home.

I think the cop that stoped me just had to look at my jeep up close, was probbly wishing it was him a not me running a round with a big smile on my face.
