Windjammer and Deck cover

I searched the topic for the YJ, but my question was never answered.

Question is How Well does the combination keep out water..

I have a POS bikini cover and half soft doors that's it.. I purchased an 89 Laredo a few days ago,,

Best brand at keeping out water?

I know it wont keep out 100% of the water.. will also keep out the causal thief..

THANKS From Cary, NC..

Better than a bikini and that's for sure. I've heard mixed results from different brands, but I think most are expecting them to be completely weather proof, which they're not. Bestop makes a nice one and one of our guys here runs that setup on his TJ and he's happy with it.

I know it's different, but I had this on my JK and if you have door surrounds, it can be pretty water tight. I didn't have them at the time, so there was an opening above the doors. It wasn't perfect, but it kept me fairly dry.

I have a Tj and realize it is not the same---but for information purposes I run mine (3 piece set up) from March to Oct/Nov. Very dry--only issue is I wish I had safari top instead of Bikini--have a wrap around jammer and it is very good with the duster.

Best top half top works really good since it is 1 sealed unit and the back window unzips to a mesh open area.

i ran a half top on mine for a while. itll keep the water our better than the bikini will but some water will find its way in. i had a problem with water pooling up on my deck cover after hard rains.

don't get smittybuilt!!!!!!

i have their full bikini top and it sucks compared to the bestop full bikini top my wife had on her 93 and compared to the bikini top i had when i had sport bars.

there is no center strap that pulls the top tight and hooks to the footman loop by the rear view mirror so the top is always flapping and pools about 7 inches of water in rain

How about the Rampage Cab Top and Tonneau. It uses the factory soft top hardware. It is pretty water tight, and it will work with the Sports bar (non family rollbar) I have seen an image on here or jeepforum of it on a Yj with the sports bar and can be had for around 179.00. The whole rear window section is removable (kind of looks like a windjammer but window zips in) and being 3 pieces you can remove the cab top and put a bikini top on and still use the duster on the rear for a more open feeling.

Rampage part#992015(sports bar) 993015 (family roll bar)
