Windshield Frame

Well... We just finished hanging the new tailgate, tire carrier,
new bumperettes and gaskets. Plan to add an aux. backup light.

Now its time to spin it around and start on the front end.

The windshield frame is rusted thru. (Zorlac thats the windscreen). Dad and I are going the attack the "#%$#%$#'g)
Torx screws with the tourch ( heat should release the locktight)

We have new frame, new hinges, new plates for dash, new cowl
gasket and new upper clip for bikini top. Will swap out a new
piece of glass w/gasket at the local glass shop. what did we

We will have new equip list and pics posted soon.

Thanks guys & gals

We love those torx screws
When removing the windshield frame we need to remove the hinges from the cowl. 2 on side of hinge 3 on front. Do we have to remove the dash to acess the flange nuts?? Have seen many aux light brackets available and replacement hinges???
It shouldn't be that hard to do. Oh by the way, a short blast with the propane torch unset the loctite. Any help is appreciated. Pics soon........

The nuts on the backside of those lovely torx bolts are as much of a p.i.t.a. as the torx bolts themselves. You have to reach way up under the dash and feel around for them. You will have back cramps from being contorted into the proper angle to reach them. If you are replacing the hinge anyway I would just get out the drill and knock the center of the heads out. When putting the hinges back on I used masking tape to hold the nuts in the wrench. When you drop a nut up in the dash it can be real difficult to find unless you get lucky and it sticks to the magnet on your speaker.
