Smile WOOOHOOOO...I did it..3" body lift

I did a 3" body lift on my 93 yj today in only 3 hours. Only broke off 1 bolt (the one by the tank filler, the rest of them came out fairly easy thanks to the guys oon here. I started putting PB on it 3 days ago and let it sit. I drilled out holes like another thread suggested. Thanks guys for all the help. I'll put pics up as soon as I wash her and paint the under side. SHE LOOKS AMAZING, now for my 35" Mickeys to be put on. And by the way I hope this dont tick off anyone but my BABY WILL NEVER SEE THE MUD, she is for the looks only. I love JEEP YJ's

I bought mine from
"EASLEY 4X4" here in Easley SC and it only cost $120.00 for a full kit.
Jimmy is the man when it comes to Jeeps in my area. The kit was really easy to install, and he even thru in the rubber pieces (retail was $100), look him up and he can ship the anywhere you want at that price plus shipping

Cool thanks for the info I am putting a 3" lift on mine next friday. Has it changed any thing like steering or being top heavy. Any big changes to hard wear

just for the look, I dont go trailing, mudding, rock climbing my JEEP is my daily driver and for taking it to job sites for meetings. I get alot of looks from people when I show up to meetings in a JEEP because they dont expect an Electrical Engineer to ride up in a JEEP thats jacked up. She is headed for paint in a few weeks to get a NEW face lift. Going to paint here Gloss Black with Blue accents. Ordered my new seats last night (both front and back) in blue. I have my Mickey Thompson's 35" tires being put on tuesday. I am giving this JEEP to my daughter when she turns 16 (she is 12 right now) so that gives me 4 yrs to enjoy it and teach her how to drive it. My son has a 91 Explorer XLT 4x4 sitting on 33"'s and my lil girl wanted the JEEP, so they are very spoiled and got what they wanted.

Welcome dnrbaker ,for looks is ok in my book,I love to offroad myself but in my area there are a lot of "for looks" jeeps running around ,but they all wave so they are jeep lovers none the less.

I would say that when it comes time to get your daughter a Jeep get her one with out the risks of a 3" body lift, with its maxed out fuel lines, and all the other crap you have to butcher to get it installed. In other words think about her, and what could happen in an accident, not how good the jeep looks.

Agreed! This is a fact: The tub could become an unguided missile in the event of a head on collision when it separates from the frame.

Just my $.02 but I'd think HARD about giving that to my kids with a 3" body lift.

My daughter is 12 and I also bought my TJ for her eventual 17th birthday, but now that I am having so much fun making it my own, she will have to settle for another one.

DONT BELIEVE I asked your opinion on that NOW DID I? As far as giving my daughter the Jeep when she is old enough think about this - she is 12 now and wants the Jeep, when she getts to be 16 she will not want the Jeep she will want something girly just like her friends have/will have, but AS A GOOD DADDY I agreed to give it to she to basically SHUT HER UP because I gave my son a 4x4 for his 16th bday. I know the 3" lift is extreme to some but like the original post stated "IT'S FOR LOOKS ONLY". Dont get me wrong I really appreciate the thoughts and concerns but just remember "OPINIONS ARE LIKE A**HOLES - EVERYONE HAS ONE AND MOST OF THEM STINK WORSE THAN MINE" My daughters happiness is one of my highest priorities in life and her safety is above ALL ELSE. I am going to keep the Jeep but I just cant let her know that because she watches mhat I do and tries to copy me in just about everything I do, even down to engineering math. Stinky Pinky is my buddy and side kick.

Cool, just razzin ya man. No worries. Everyone loves to see pics and as a general rule on most forums "pics or it didn't happen" is a way to entice people into posting up pics of their stuff.

BTW.....welcome to the forum.
