Yj body lift or new spring lift?

New here and my first question is for a 2" lift should I go body lift or new springs that add 2". This is a 93 so I am sure the old springs have a little sag by now. I just put new 16" wheels with 65/75/16s and that got me up there but I want the fenders up a bit from the tire for a better look. I do not offroad much. Mike

Suspension lifts are preferred over body lifts for a variety to reasons. If you measure from the front axle bump stop to the frame you can tell how much you springs have sagged. I believe standard is 1 1/2 inches of clearance. In my case I am down to 1/2 inch for a variety of reasons. Just picked up new springs to provide 2 1/2 inches of lift over standard but I have not installed them yet.

I would say get new shocks as well and would guess it will help the ride vs the current ones. Most kits include new shocks to match the lift. keep in mind with the age of the jeep, expect many of the bolts to be rusted and need to be cut off or out.

I have not installed the new springs yet but because I have new shocks (long story) I am going to try to use the stock springs even if I need to compensate by modification to the shock mount.

Went with the new suspension lift. Really nice and rides better than on the old 1993 springs.
