YJ full steel door (Shell only) easy fix?

Hi Guys,

i recently took my YJ to get painted and its almost ready for paint everything is primered except the tailgate waiting on a replacement from Quadratec and the passenger door as well. I was told by paint shop it is better just to get a new/used door and tailgate because they did not want to use any bondo preferably to which i agreed however passenger doors are pretty expensive at least for my budget i found a used one on ebay for 275.00 plus 76.00 in shipping i was like wth so i offered the guy 100 bucks to my surprise he agreed!! the pics looked awesome once i received looks exactly like in pics, my question is how hard is it to replace all the innards from my existing door over to the shell door? it has no window and no window regulator or support whatever its called but i do have my old door with all the stuff inside the door.

Here's the best link I've found:

"Gaucho" CJ stepside pickup build - Page 67 - JeepForum.com

You might want to replace some of the gaskets while you are swapping parts. Quadratec has everything you may need.

its not hard man, just go slow and use wd-40 on the screws and nuts that are bound up. you might need to spray them and let them sit overnight for the wd to do its magic. if you can find some crappy ones in your area to harvest parts from that will help, the things that I have found that I have need to buy of course are new window seals, everywhere, even on the vents. be careful removing the vents because that one bolt with the nut on the bottom likes to sheer off. davey's jeep has lots of used parts, quadratec and morris 4x4 have most of all the new stuff you'd need.
all the other guts came out pretty easy, the one that has been the worst to get out is this little rubber bar that sits at the bottom of the door, it keeps the glass from hitting the bottom of the doors. there is an order too as to what comes off first, just what i found, but all the window felt must come out before you can get the glass out. take your time and keep everything in plastic bags and label them, I use the empty swifter boxes to store parts in. take some pics before you start ripping it all apart so if you get turned around you have some reference when you go to install them in your shells
good luck
Addison
