YJ Hard Top

Looking at the possibility of a hard top. What's a "reasonable" price for a used top? What else do I need to install the top? Does my permanent header track for the soft top need to come off to properly fit the hard lid?

Been looking at Craigslist and found one for $350 that needs a rear window or one for $600.

you need to remove all the soft top channels, even the one on the windshield, and the ones on the sides of the windshield. tis the season for them now though, but in the summer i've seen them in good shape for around 350-500, now 600 in good shape isn't bad either.

I know there are no side channels on a 94 YJ just the one across the top of the windshield. Remove that and the tracks along the sides and back of the tub and a hardtop will bolt on to the existing holes.

there should be a side channel on the windshield frame. it has the little knob sticking out at the top for the soft top frame to latch on. maybe some aftermarket tops are different, but even the best tops i've seen have it there.

Sounds high for around here
I see them for 250ish not perfect
but not needing a window
That was in aug the closer to winter
the price will go up a little , 350
with no work needed

A few things to look at on the hard top
front corners have a rubber inserts
that seal door and windshield to top
across the front there is a rail built in the hardtop
with bolt holes ,make sure that its there

Thanks for the input. This guy from CALI never thought he'd ever be looking at hard top's....But life throws you some curve balls sometimes. Just might try a WA winter without once.

Well to bad that you are not closer to Ohio, I have one that needs the back glass, and I would let it go for $200, maybe even $150 on the right day.
