Question YJ Question Clutch Start?

A Buddy of mine has a YJ Manual transmition
He says he can start his YJ in any transfer case position and any transmition position without pushing the clutch.

Is this normal? I know on the JKs you dont have to push the clutch if you are in 4Lo. But what about the YJs?

Normal. YJ's, unlike TJ's and JK's, don't have a safety switch so you can start it with the clutch out and if you do it will move if it's in gear.
