YJ seat covers

Hey everybody, now that summer is on the way, I'm going to start hauling my lab around, and mostly to the local ponds or rivers to train her for hunting. The thing is, I just got my jeep, and it is IMO in mint condition, well atleast the interior. It's a rio grande edition with the spice interior and the pueblo/Indian rug fabric for seats. My question is: does somebody make waterproof seat covers that still have the patern, or will I need to buy just plain spice colored covers? Who makes the best covers? Are they waterproof? I have seen neoprene, and just figured they were waterproof.
Thanks!

No no one does, however most of the seatcovers for YJ's will not fit our Rio Grande seats properly (more bolster in 95)
Marathon does have custom canvas covers that are water proof and Wet Okole also makes some neoprene that are custom.. I'm going with the canvas my self just for durability

Why won't most seats fit the rio grandes? Did jeep put different seats in this edition?

Sahara and rio grande had some pockets on the back of the seat iirc.

Don't know about the pattern, but Wet Okole makes some really nice, tight fitting seat covers.

I pulled best top or quadratec covers right over the Sahara seat pockets. No issues.

I was going to cut them off because they were deteriorating, but didn't have to.

I really liked my bestop covers on my 95 I had them for 8 years before I sold the jeep. I'm planning on replacing the seats on my 89 when I do my cage so I don't want to spend the money on new seat covers

Bestop will tell you right on the phone that 1995 the seats had more bolster and that their covers don't fit properly. and im sure its the same for most others since they list them 87-95 universal, or don't list 95 at all.

I don't have first hand knowledge but this is what I was told on the phone when I asked why they didn't list 95 on their covers, or perhaps at one time they did make them that fit properly and no more? or maybe just the Rio Grande's differed is why they listed it that way?

Didn't the rio grande seats end up in the early TJs? Maybe they were redesigned. My yj sahara seats don't seem as thick as my old vinyl TJ seats....maybe that is it.

Heres a 97...those are the same as the rio seats, yes?

No they used same fabric, but seats were little different..

heres my Rio Grande seats for reference https://www.dropbox.com/sh/57qkan7g1...YTBu6XfFa?dl=0

Now we need some stock non worn YJ seats to compare if they actually differ enough to warrant what Bestop stated, who knows they could be close enough?

Would something like this help?
Jeep Logo Towel / Car Seat Cover, 60 x 35" - Red - SA-T2G100R

It would be easy to remove and wash. They come if a few different colors as well. :-)

I've looked at those, but I'm leaning toward the "permanent" covers that I'll take off once a year and wash.

We do carry the other covers, but none of them are on sale right now unfortunately.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about the seats. I would have my dog go ride with me over worrying clean seats ANY DAY! It is a Jeep, it's most likely going to rust out before the seats wear out anyway!

LOL! I forgot I had $100 in gift cards for cabelas left over from birthday and christmas, so... They went to the cheapo waterproof seat covers made by cabelas, a waterproof dog blanket that lines the cargo space, a gun rack/storage compartment that fits against the bask of the seats, and a smell stick to help with training my dog. I'll let you guys know how everything fits and works when the shipment comes in! Thanks!

The Cabela's ones fit like a glove. They are water proof, and they do block water(my lab taught me this!).
