YJ sound bar - modification?

I'm sure it's been covered but I couldn't find a thread so forgive me.

I have a YJ with a custom cage, I've been battling for years to get some decent sound out of my Jeep. I only have a soft top and mostly run the bikini top. The Pods behind the front seats don't work becuase of the new cage. I've tried boat speakers and hooked them up to the roll bar in the back and it kinda worked but kids are too big now and they hit their head.

I'm thinking of cutting up a sound bar and making it fit in/around my cage.

Anyone cut one up before and make it work? Also, the two front speakers, they don't do anything for me while driving around with the top off, any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any input, I love my music but not so much lately.

These are Pioneer pre-boxed. Mounted to the roll bar main hoop. 150watt ea. More than enough sound for me and anyone near me when the top is off. I power them with a 100 watt amp. Not a ton of power, but the amp is small enough to hide under the driver's seat and the wires go right up the roll bar under the padding.

'87 YJ, 4.2L built and bored, 8" of lift, 8.8 rear, AX15/NP 231J, Tom Woods drive shafts, Flat fenders, 12,000LB winch, Custom bumpers, Rattle can paint job. Never completed...

I made my own box to fit behind the main roll bar. It puts the speakers away from your head and there's still head clearance in the back too. It's just a wood box and a padded cover that my wife sewed for me. You could build something that would fit in your cage.
