YJ with JK steering wheel?

So, im getting my first jeep this year and its going to be a YJ. Since I will be using it as my daily driver, I would like to have radio controls on the steering wheel and since the TJ sterring wheel is awful I wouldnt even consider it. Anyway, I would like to know if this is possible or if anyone has done it and wants to posts spme pics that would be great.

Why just get a remote wheel mount, I cant even imagine one of those in a YJ let alone the airbag nonsense.
Im sure anything is possible, but that would take a considerable amount of time/fabrication to get a JK wheel in there

Yeah. You would need to worry about mounting plus integration into the jeep. Plus a radio that directly supports the JK steering wheel controls. It is probably possible. But extremely impractical. Might look cool though.

You want steering mounted radio controls. I don't think a YJ is the right vehicle for you... Maybe a WJ is more your style

It's not as simple as just mounting the wheel and hooking up the buttons. Radios that allow remote volume and skip/search use a CAN signal. The buttons on the steering wheel go to a control module that sends the signal on one wire. The buttons work on very specific voltage ranges that vary by make. The module is in place to protect the radio from any shorts in the buttons and also to clean up the amount of wiring that has to run behind the dash.

It gets even better when you are using OEM buttons with an aftermarket radio. 95% of the time, the radio requires an "adapter" that converts the vehicles signal into a signal that the radio can understand.

It's not impossible but it's going to take some money, technical skill, and a lot of patience.
