Four years ago our neighbor moved to somewhere on the Washington/Canadian border. Without our knowlege he left a very old military vehicle on the back portion of our property. Initially he contacted us and said he was going to have it picked up and shipped to him. We never heard from him again. Now we would like to legally claim the vehicle as we have moved it to the front of our property and rather enjoy its uniqueness. Does anyone know how we would do this? The are no plates or even vin number we can find. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Unless and until you getting running and want to drive it on public roads you do not need to worry about title, registration or plates.
This would not be a vehicle that would be very practical to drive very far on modern roads and no way would I take it on a highway.
I had to drive a jeep in Germany on the autoban every day spent as much time looking in my mirror than forward . More than once pulled over off the road as a BMW went by at 100 MPH with me going Max 40 MPH. They would pop over a hill and be on my tail before they saw me.
I got a Slow Moving Vehicle triangle to put on the back.
With todays cell phones and distractions - it just would not be safe - you are too slow.
For short trips on side roads or gravel yeh you could do it. Small rural towns in Missouri lots of ATV, Horse back riders, buggies and old cars that are not road legal / plated being used . Just not on a paved road with the untitled/ unplated vehicles. More of a drive to the edge of town than thru .
