2012 four door tourer

G'day from Darwin Australia.

After owning 2 XJ Cherokee's and a KJ Cherokee/Liberty I've finally got my dream Jeep in a 2012 Wrangler Unlimited.

It came with 35" tyres which were too tall for the gearing. The wheels were nice AEV Pintler's with beadlocks.. While it looked great I wasn't happy with the way it drove, plus beadlocks are illegal here.

It's now fitted with Toyo Open County 295/70/17's (33's) on black 8 slot wheels which I believe are an aussie copy of Cragar's.

The Jeep is being set up for touring around Australia so there are no plans of huge lifts or crawler type mods.

At this stage I've fitted a Smittybilt SRC roof rack, roof top tent and side awning for camping. In the near future dual batteries and a fridge/freezer will replace my cooler.

For capability improvements it has the mud tyres, EFS 2" lift, 12,000 pound winch fitted to an ARB bumper as well as a recovery kit and air compressor in the back. The compressor will be mounted and wired in permanently once I've sorted my rear storage out.

Not a lot of money spent at this stage but my future plans of front and rear lockers, dual batteries, fridge/freezer, snorkel, rock sliders and XRC rear bumper with tyre carrier will bump the costs up a bit. I'm also still working on ideas for rear storage in the back, including a fridge slide and kitchen set up.

Hopefully updates will come fairly often as well as some pics of our camping trips around the top end of Aus.

G'day mate and welcome from a fellow Aussie! That's a good looking setup you've got there, congrats!

Why would I pay a pro to do something, when I can screw it up just as bad, for less?
