2015 JKUR "Brown-ish"

Hello everyone! I wanted to start my build thread to document my build. I bought my rig brand new in 2015 and it currently sits bone stock with about 40K miles on the odometer. I named my build "brown-ish" because people always ask about the color and I always end up describing it as such. I'm currently stationed overseas, so I've just been collecting parts over the last year or so and plan to get start installing parts in the next 6-9 months. Below is a list of parts that I currently have on hand and a list of parts that I have me eye on for the future.

Parts on hand awaiting install
MC 3.5" Gamechanger w/rocksport shocks
MC HD steering system
Dynatrac progrip brakes
1.5" spidertrax wheel spacers
TF HD ball joints

Future parts purchases 4-9 months
4.56/4.88 gears
35-37" tires
Artec industries front axle kit
MC front and rear diff covers

To be determined
Bumpers
Winch
Wheels
Fenders
Lights
Other odd ends

I really wanted a unique build name and that's the best I could come up with.

Thanks! I haven't seen too many other Jeeps with the same color.

I purchased my tires just a few days ago from Discount Tire Direct. I ended up going with Cooper STT Pros in 315/70/17. Big shout out to them for shipping them overseas to me and best of all it only took a few days. I also picked up an Alpine iLX-W650 from Crutchfield and should be delivered any day now. I'm also eying the poison Spider front and rear Bruizer bumpers, but those will have to wait since I can't get them shipped to an APO. I can't wait to start the build because the parts are just piling up now.

I love my PS Bruiser bumpers! Just installed the rear one about a week ago. Next up is to fill in the voids of the square light holes and most importantly the recessed winch!

good luck with your build. sounds like youve got a good plan. and yes, it seems our color choice is rare. i like it that way.

Look how i blend in with the muddy water. I agree.. sort of 'brownish' LOL

Over the past month I’ve installed my metal cloak 3.5” game changer along with the HD steering system. Also installed an Alpine ILX-W650 with their new spare tire mounted back up camera. Additionally, I installed my Cooper STT Pros on my stock wheels.

I did the lift install on my own and it took approximately 4 days to get everything done. The auto hobby shop on base is only opened for about 8 hrs on Saturday and 6 hrs on Sunday and you end up losing an hour to set up and clean up. The install itself was not difficult but an extra set of hands will go a long way.

I purchased the Alpine stereo and back up camera from Crutchfield along with their plug and play harness. The install was straight forward for both items but I feel like my stock radio had better sound. I have some back static coming from the new Alpine unit which sounds like I’m playing my music from a cassette tape. The rear back up camera video feed is clear both during the day and night.

I ran my Cooper315/70/17 STT Pros without a lift for about 3 days and let me tell you they rubbed quite a bit. The front tires rubbed at full turn and the rear tires rubbed on the rock rails. I couldn’t imagine running this size tire or larger without at least a leveling kit.

The plans for the next month or two include installing new brakes, ordering a tire carrier and maybe buying some new headlights. I’ll post some additional pictures when I clean her up but for now this is how she looks.
