2016 JKR - Baby Blue

Since the TJ left the house we needed a vehicle for the youngest son who was approaching 16. The plan was for him to take over the TJ but it's my wife's fault again. We spent a "little" bit of money on Metalcloak fenders for the TJ and she got mad that we were spending "so much money" on an old jeep. I was told to find him a vehicle he could keep.

I found one I liked, it was a long ways away so I worked out a reasonable deal over the phone and email and got on a Plane for Allentown, PA (after 2 cancelled filghts due to weather). Jeep looked just like described and as in the pics they sent so I got it. 2016 JK Rubicon Hardrock. Only 11k on the odometer. Now to begin the 1000 mile trip home!

It got named baby blue because it is blue and when it came home it was the “baby” Jeep in the driveway.

Surprised the kid with it with the wife's addition of a big red bow. Since picking it up we have done the following mods:

Alien sun shade - used from local club member

Metalcloak 2.5" Game Changer - 2nd hand but 1st owner never installed it

Cooper STT Pro 315/70-17

Spidertrax 1.5" wheel spacers

Poison Spyder Brawler Lite Stinger bumper

ProComp LED headlights

Bartact console cover

Diver Down seat covers

Still let to do:

He bought some ProComp HID round lits we are going to ge brackets for and mount in front of the windshield pillars.

He was stoked! Even took on a summer job to buy those 35” STT Pros.

Update:

Got the S-Tech 4 switch controller in and wired up the big HID and some rock lights. Also put some JL hood latches on it.

Kid used some of his summer job $$ to purchase a full set of aluminum Bushwhacker flares. They look identical to the Poison Spider flares. Now to see about paint, powder coat or both.
