I decided to attempt installing the Teraflex 2.5” lift kit on my 2016 JK unlimited. I am not sure it is working out cheaper than paying someone to do it (after all the tools I had to purchase) but it sure is a lot more fun (for the most part).
I started with the front today and it took my 7 hours to complete it. That includes springs, Rancho 9000 shocks, track bar, and Rancho steering dampener. I ran into a couple of snags (mainly because I did not have all the right tools and workspace) along the way but overall it wasn’t too bad.
My biggest struggle was with the bump stops, and figuring out the right sequence to tighten everything (I had to loosen and re-tighten things multiple times. The install manual was a bit confusing.)
I’ve add some initial photos below showing the components, my improvised bump stop press, and the final result. At the end the from is actually 3.5” higher. I am still running OE bumpers so that will drop once I upgrade to steel bumpers.
Now my next step is the rear. I will post some more photos once I am all done.
