First Jeep. 2008 JKU "Tugger"

Well, I've got too many pictures on my phone now, so I figured I'd start a build thread as a place to dump some photos, and document my progression.

I bought the Jeep used in May of 2017 with about 109k miles, existing lift of unknown brand and height, stock factory top in rough shape, and a missing spare tire.

Here's Tugger as purchased:

Bonus pic of the door hangers I made for the garage.

First order of business was tracking down a matching rim and getting a bumper mounted tire carrier to get the weight of the 35's (and hopefully future 40's) off of the tailgate hinges.

I opted for the Ace Engineering Pro Series Rear Bumper with Tire Carrier since I liked the look and consensus reviews.

I wired the 6" LED's into the reverse lights for now, but will eventually wire them through a 3-way switch so I can have On With Reverse/OFF/ON Independently.

Here's some pictures of the bumper install:

I really hated the factory soft top, the previous owner definitely did not treat it well, and much of the frame was broken, and some hardware was missing.

Next order of business was installing the ORH Fastback top.

Luckily, I have a large industrial oven at work to heat the componentes, so I could install in the middle of winter.

Here's some photos from that install:

Pulled Jeep in shop, right in front of oven.

Laid everything inside to "cook" at 103 degrees for 1.5 hours.

Finished Product (took about an hour to put on...)

The factory front bumper was starting to look out of place, so I decided to get that swapped out with something more to my liking.

I decided on the DV8 FS6 with a Superwinch 9500 SR. Loved the look of the mid width bumper, and definitely wanted to go with synthetic line. Would have liked to go with a Warn winch, but I just couldn't justify paying that much to use it 3-5 times a year. I hope this doesn't come back to bite me in the ass..

Some pictures of the bumper and Jeep after install:

Sidenote, yes I am aware that 'p' in the Jeep logo is messed up, I just haven't gotten around to hitting it with the heat gun or anything yet. It's not hurting anything...
