I'm installing the PSC XD Steering Pump Kit on Rubi. I really love well made parts, and this kit did not disappoint. The fact that it's made in USA only made it better.

I will have quite a few things slightly used to sell and trying to get an idea how much to charge. at the time i sell everything, the Jeep should have about 27k miles and always garage kept (the Jeep has yet to see a trail).

I'll have;
Shocks
stabilizer
5 wheels (and tires)
brakes
short arms links
Well basically everything stock off the Hard Rock, that I'm upgrading...

I was hoping to sell it off in one big box at a reasonable price if possible.

Please let me know what you think or a couple of scenarios.

Thanks,

Jeff B.

Hi Jeff. On Rubi, I found someone local who gave me $1500 for 5-wheels/tires and my RHR lift(springs, shocks, control arms). I think the RHR springs are an inch taller than a stock spring. He wanted to stay stock, and gain the extra lift.

While lifting my wife's Jeep, I sold her 5-wheels/tires for $500. I still have her stock RHR lift.

Good luck with selling your parts. I'd list them on the forum here.

Thank you, sir. I was thinking $1200-1500 for everything as a package. Once I start taking it all off (next weekend I hope) I'll post..

I got the PSC XD Steering Pump installed over the weekend. Not too hard to do. With the air intake off, you have easy access to the pump.

While I had the air intake out, I installed a new oiled filter and filter wrap.

Props to Gatlin at PSC for taking the time, and making sure I received the pump in as short as time possible. Great customer experience!

I did a full write-up of this install in the blog under Reviews>Steering.

Just a quick update on the new PSC pump I recently installed. All fittings are staying tight and dry with no leaks.

I love the steering feel of the new pump with the Big Bore XD. With the added volume, steering reacts quicker than with the stock pump/Big Bore. It's also one finger easy on pavement.

If you're contemplating adding the Big Bore XD Steering Gear to your build, do the pump at the same time.

I just added a video interview I did while I was at EJS this year to the Blog. It pretty much ended the debated on whether I should run beadlocks

Great video!
Thanks Jeff! I had fun making that and Dr. Hank was great to talk to.

It was also a real eye opener on the capabilities of running a beadlock.

That was a good quick to the point video. I enjoyed it.

It was a real struggle for me to go beadlocks with shared time on road/offroad. The safety factor is huge and the simulated are so good today, you don't have to do it for looks. When it came right down to it the pro's (ability off-road) out way the cons (maintainance/weight) on road for me.

I would never do terribly difficult trails without others, but I often go down random trails solo. That said, you don't know what kind of difficulties you'll run into so a good winch, AAA and now beadlocks is the recipe I need to be comfortable.

Hard Rock Rubi

a spare tire is also helpful.

If I were to do beadlocks I would also keep a set of non-beadlock wheels with tires for around town and general trail use.

Beadlocks???

A little back story on my thought process for running beadlock wheels.

I've wheeled in Moab for the past three years running my non-beadlock wheels without issue. I run them around 12-14psi and they've done well on class 6/7 trails. Last year when I stopped by Dixie 4Wheel Drive to have them check over Rubi before heading home to Chicago, I asked them what they would change/add on my build? After looking her over and giving that some thought, the answer was this, "your lifted, built for 37's and armored, the only thing missing are beadlocks".

This year while at EJS, my daughter and I were lucky enough to ride along with the crew from Dixie on Hell's Revenge. I spent an afternoon with their lead mechanic Brad in his new JL on the trail and that gave me a chance to really pick his brain about all things Jeeping. The topic of beadlocks naturally came up. His reply, "I wouldn't build a Jeep without them!" They air down to 8psi for the trail. Brad ran Hell's Revenge without lockers.

They of course wheel their Jeeps a lot, but they are also their daily drivers. That same weekend, I met Dr. Hank and shot the video I recently posted on beadlocks(post#2773). Hank was only half way through Kane Creek when he cuts a side wall on Hamburger Hill and finishes the trail and drives in to town and to the shop. That was a real eye opener for me. A beadlock is an extra measure of capability, that's where I'm headed.

Have to say I completely agree with your thought process. One less thing to worry about.

But be warned, people around here don't like to balance them. I had been running mine with dynabeads without issue, but a new set of tires and that changed. Ended up finding someone to do that while I was out on Az this March.

Yes, that will be interesting. I'm hoping Casey at Max It Out can handle the balancing, I'll let you know.

You can definitely do more with less psi. on the trail.

I too would be very interested to know how Max It Out handles the balancing. I've also considered running beadlocks, but concerned about maintenance of the wheel and daily driving. Any Illinois law issues running on the highway?

In terms of maintenance, those I've talked with say it's not bad at all. I love working on my Jeep, so taking a torque wrench out once in a while isn't an issue. I do want them balanced so I can roll down the interstate in comfort. We'll see.

I don't know about Illinois law and beadlocks.

Test fitting the M106 Beadlock.

The -44mm/3.5" B.S. will be perfect...

I'll be selling my current set of wheels/tires. PM me if interested.

Nice..I had my eyes on the M106's when I went to 37's. Casey kind of talked me out of them, but more because I wasn't entirely confident I wanted to go that route. Your decision may make me reconsider as it allows me to dump the spacers with the backspacing.

The details are really nice, and the 3.5" B.S. gives a nice deep concave to the wheel. My current set of Method Fat Fives still look new, so expect these give the same kind of service.

To your point, always nice to have the proper B.S. when possible.

Looks awesome, love those wheels.

Let me know if Casey's down to balance them, when I called they said no but maybe different story in person. And I now own a cheap bubble balancer I used for 1 of my 5 if you need to borrow it lol. I also heard north fifth auto in st Charles will do it.
