@TakHardRock , I had the 4.5" M.C. front springs installed today. You're right, it does ride better(removed 1" spacer)! I think just having more spring yields a better ride.

I'll try and snap a pic tomorrow.

Here's a quick pic of the new M.C. 4.5" front spring I installed yesterday. This is on a 3.5" Game Changer lift(3.5" rear spring and coil spring alignment kit). I was previously running a 1" spacer up front.

I measured it with the new springs installed, and it's almost level. As it sits now, it has the slightest of front rakes. It does seem to ride a little better with 4.5" spring vs. the 3.5" spring and 1" spacer.

Looks good Steven, maybe your front is lighter than mine. I think the springs will settle down.

I might be a few pounds lighter up front. The Warn M8000S weighs only 55lbs compared to the Zeon 10S which weighs 75lbs.

I'm sure the springs will settle a little. My measurements were taken at the front rear and edge of the RSE Sliders. I sitting an 1/8" lower on the front at the measuring point.

I also removed the 1" MC bumpstop I was running with the SpeedBumps. Last year on the trail I noticed I was not completely stuffed. I'll test that out when I'm in Moab in Sept.

Hey Steven - old post so not sure if you still follow...

I ordered the same bushwhacker deflector and will need to heat it to mold around my power hood...can you advise how you heated it? Did you heat gun it when it was on the hood? How much heat did you need and did it discolour the plastic?

Thanks!!!

Hi Steve! When you install it, lay it on the hood so you can see where to apply the heat to shape it to match the contours of the power dome.

I used a heat gun, but be careful, go slow and do not overheat it. Check the temp with your hand as this will allow you feel the plastic getting soft. Then you can begin to get the contours going. It did not discolor at all. Good luck with your install.

Great thank you Steven!! Just out of curiosity, do you remember how long it took for the plastic to start to mold with the hood?

Thanks again! I appreciate the help!

It takes just a couple of minutes or so. It's not that you can actually reshape the plastic. The heat will allow you make it soft/pliable enough to allow you to have it follow the contours of the hood as you apply it. Bushwacker uses the great 3M tape, that stays put.

I hope that helps.

so how well does the wind reflector work? does it stop all the bugs from splattering on windshield? less wind noise?

It's helped keep the bug juice down, certainly doesn't stop them all.

Interesting I have the 2.5 Mc springs and a 1.0 front spacer for the same kind of thing 3.5/2.5 lift.

What is the differences exactly, in the ride as I know what the 2.5 and 1.0 / 2.5 rides like.

Hi greatwhite! I think the difference Tak and I are feeling is that we are using all spring. It feels like removing the rubber isolator(spacer) allows for a more direct response from the suspension.

I'm not a suspension engineer, just my conjecture here.

Hi AZchip, good hearing from you! I'm approaching 3 years on my M.C. lift and love it. My Jeep is my daily driver, and I really appreciate the quiet, compliant ride on road.

I'm currently out West on my annual wheeling trip, Ouray, Moab, Big Sky. Seeing what these lifts can do on the trail will really make a believer out of you.

I'd recommend this lift to anyone wanting onroad ride/handling that is superior to stock combined with a mid arm that will flex like a long arm to seriously look at Metal Cloak.

Thanks for your help Steven! Took a bit of messing around with the deflector/power dome, and fighting with the tape, but the heat gun seemed to help (slightly).

Hey there Steven looks like you had a great trip out west!
Did you have any issues in the rain with the RGs? I've had a couple of times where I've lost traction on curves and gone a little sideways.

Hi Billy, we had another great trip this year. We were two days in Ouray, then four in Moab and then up to Big Sky before heading home. I'll be adding content from that to Expedition Builds on YouTube.

Regarding the RG's in the rain, grip has been really good, almost on par with my previous GY Duratracs. Shortly after installing the RG's, I pushed them pretty good in the rain, especially during cornering to try and get a baseline on when breakaway occurs. I did have a momentary hydro plane happen when I hit a deep(4-6") at roughly 50mph. I contribute that more to the 12.5" width more than anything.

-Steven

They were superb offroad with the new beadlocks...really surpassed my expectations. More on that later.

This was another addition added to my build, TeraFlex's Wasatch Rack. This mod made such a difference in the way we carry and organize our gear.

After spending time running it through its paces on and off road, I'm completely satisfied with it. I recently posted a review video of it on my Expedition Builds YouTube channel.

Hey Cobra, good to hear! I've read some reviews on it saying it rattles. I found that judicious use of the supplied thread locker has mine running perfectly quiet. Being able to load all gear and not pile things up made for a much better wheeling and camping experience.

The Alta Rack looks really well designed, and if it's anything like TeraFlex's other products I've owned will have a long lasting, durable finish as well. Something I really appreciate.

I think every Jeeper would appreciate the additional light at the back of the JK(U). It was especially helpful out on the trail after dark, setting up camp.
