Heart of Gold build

First Jeep Wrangler I've owned, just bought this Tuesday, February 27. 2018. I am going to do a prospecting/ rock hounding build and theme combined with Joss Wheden's "Firefly" theme with a concentration on using the colors garnet and gold. "Heart of Gold" is in memory of my recently passed wife.

So far what I've done:

Some premium gold vinyl lettering on the hood, both sides Heart of Gold

The Serenity symbol from the spaceship in "Firefly" on both front doors. It's printed directly on 3m reflective vinyl and then laminated. The lamination besides making it last longer also cuts down on the reflective qualities a bit which looks nice, it's still noticeable but doesn't scream.

Grill inserts.

Plans are to paint the grill in hammered gold and the grill inserts in hammered copper. Hinges and highlights will be applied elsewhere in the hammered gold. Thinking about doing the custom front bumper in hammered copper also and adding a matching rear bumper. DOT approved LED headlights have been ordered but I forget the brand name. eventually all lighting will be replaced with LED's and rear light LED's are on their way. Plan to do a small lift and replace tires with some slightly better at being daily use tires that will see some use on moderate trails to get to rock hounding sites. Rugged Ridge or Quadratec floor liners will be installed also.

The area around the Heart of Gold lettering will get a gold vinyl mountain above the lettering and a miners helmet and crossed pickaxes on either side

A primed Rugged Ridge Hood Louver is on it's way and will be painted in the hammered gold before being installed.

Lots of other custom work planned as I learn more about what will work best for the lifestyle and uses planned for it.

to the Forum!

Interesting build idea, Heart!
As a geologist, I too will be looking forward to what you come up with on your rig. A couple of recommendations; get yourself a good set of skids if you plan to visit some of the more remote collecting sites. Also, it's hard to beat either KO2s or Duratracs for onroad/offroad tires.

Definitely show the progress of your build on here....

Thanks for the tip on tires. As a geologist I would definitely like to hear your input/opinions on various parts of this build as I make the plans and buy the parts.

My wife was my heart of gold. That song used to mean a whole lot to me, and brought a sense of longing. After we began dating, the first time I heard the song I realized it no longer held much meaning to me because I had found her.
