Project Rhino

Hey everyone I joined back in August 2017, finally making my first post. I’m new to the Jeep world but not new to off roading or modding every vehicle I ever owned.

I got tired of the stock look of the new JKU so I decided to start a build. I sarted with some simple stuff first like Go Rhino side steps, grab handles, KC lights and front Mopar bumper light bar. Just recently I added a 3.5” JKS JSpec lift with front lower JLink control arms, rear adjustable sway bar links, drag link flip kit and exhaust spacers.

Then it was time to pick the tires and wheels. I already knew what tires I wanted, 35” Mickey Thompson MTZ P3’s. It took me a while to decide on wheels....diameter, with, backspacing, color, look, etc.. I finally decided on Fuel Anza 20x10 with 4.75” back space and 35x12.50R20 Mickey MTZ’s wrapped around them. I am so glad I did, looks amazing in my opinion. The Jeep rides and handles great with the JKS lift and tire wheel combo.

With the larger tires I had to do something about the speedo. So I bought the Superchips Pro Cal. Very easy to use to program my tire size and also to change my stock TPMS settings.

I plan on adding much more in the future, as soon as my bank account will allow lol. Looking forward to being here and to share my knowledge wherever I can. Ohh.... Here’s some pics.

I also decided to do the tag relocate on the rear due to funds. I went with the Poison Spyder Tramp Stamp kit and factory tag hole plug. I put a silver decal behind it to make the Poison Spyder logo to stand out. I will eventually get a Rugged ridge Spartacus HD spare kit and a new wheel and tire to put back there.

Looks good! Have you thought about regearing at all? You may find that it'll feel a bit sluggish with the stock gears. Looking forward to following it!

Yes I have, it’s on the beginning of the to do list that’s a mile long lol. The only difference I really notice is on the interstate around 70-80mph. Hard to maintain the speeds without getting on the throttle again.

Haven’t posted in a while so here’s a bunch of pics of what I’ve done so far.

Took off the stock bumper and added some flat fenders. Poison Spyder bumper was on order.

After driving my wife’s JL and noticing the better throttle response I added this little gadget. It’s a Hikeit throttle controller with lots of different adjustments and settings. I then latter added a black face plate.

Decided to upgrade my rubber brake lines to some stainless ones. Went with the Evo Manufacturing lines and some Teraflex line anchors.

About 2 months ago I installed an ARB compressor. I didn’t want to mount it under the hood so I bought a piece of angle from Home Depot and mounted it in the cargo area. Works great.

My latest install I did a little over a week ago, the SPOD. I didn’t like all those power wires running to my battery so I decided to clean it up a bit.

Hard to justify the price of this thing until you get it installed and realize how much excess wire you get rid of. Not to mention it will make installing future accessories much easier.
