RTwolf's JKUR

I decided to make this post in order to keep up with the modifications that I have done. Also, to keep up with the modifications that I want to do. I have utilized this forum to learn about the endless possibilities of modifying a wrangler. I felt that I should put my experiences with this journey in to writing. In hopes that others can learn what is available and my personal experiences with certain products.

My only regret is the poor documentation from the beginning til now. I wish I had more pictures and videos to share.

2016 Unlimited Rubicon (firecracker)

Current Modifications:
AFE 3 inch high tuck cat back exhaust
Teraflex S/T3 w/Fox reservoir shocks
Teraflex extended stainless brake lines

Ballistic sound mat with poly-fil in all speakers
Headlight/turn signal black trim
Black grill trim
Rugged Ridge matte window vents
Rugged Ridge dome door trim
PAC wiring to 430n for cheap back-up camera
Dealer flashed 430n, camera works great
OEM Recon slush mats

Installed today:
Pro Comp Led headlights

Items waiting to be installed:
Tyger 2 inch receiver
Duel red rear OEM hardrock tow hooks

Items on order:
Led fog lights
Bracket and bolts for passenger tow hooks
Push-clips (spares for future expected broken ones)

My wish list: (gets longer everyday)
Recon red seat belts
Rear slush mat with sub cutout
Pedal commander (new edition in April with bluetooth) 339.99
Apollointech/Voswitch 8 switch kit 239.99
Aluminium Apollo bumpers from sema (fall 2018 release?) 699.99 front, $? Rear

Wish list with no particular manufacturers:
Tube doors
Fenders
Fender liners
Sunshade(s)
Rock lights
Interior leds
Tires (when the current ones wear down)

I will approach my wish lists as which item(s) become more important to me over others. (funds allowing)

I will update this post as time goes on. Feel free to ask about anything I have already installed or for that matter plan to as well.

Got a few items in the mail today. The led fog lights came in. Picked up a hoist at Northern tool. Got some pulleys and cables from Lowe's. I am planning to build the hoist system above my drop ceiling in the basement. So I will post that after I get that finished.

Headlights and fog lights in!
Also in the process of taking the front bumper off to experiment with tow hook colors.

Rear tow hooks installed!

Anyone reads this and is planning on doing the same thing on a stock bumper. You will need to make a hole on the passenger side with a 1 1/4 or 32mm hole saw. Easy way to mark for hole, take bumper loose, side over, hold tow hook in place and mark the bumper where the nut and bolt hits.

Tighting up the steering!
Got and installed the Yeti XD drag link!
No issues on the removal, just a quick pop to the knuckle for release. Used a tie rod separator on Pittman end.

Thank you very much. I hope to add the tie rod as well, in the near future.

Had the rock sliders come in today.
Barricade rock sliders from extreme terrain.
Easy quick install, minus a little mishap.
(Quick tip for anyone taking out the body bolts. Wear safety glasses and old clothing if removing with impact gun. Slung black/rust water from one bolt. Rear passenger side, just in front of tire. Made a nasty mess and got my face painted.)

Impact gun
18mm impact socket
Blue thread lock
Torque wrench
Torque to 80 ft.lbs
Used two jack stands to hold in place.

Like the look and adds just enough to act as a step!

Very bright and color matches exactly despite the different manufacturers.

Been busy with work and only had time for little mods. I got the key fob case from AJT design. Easy install on that, just took the spare I had and the board from my flip key and screwed it together.

Going try for two medium mods tonight. The JL hood latches with the JL trail badge and a new rear brake light.

So far so good. I really like them! I did try to only drill the bottom two top holes for the tabs... but in the end I found the best way to get the line right was to drill all holes to 3/8 and ditch the top gasket.

Got the rear brake light done. In the end I would say it was the funnest mod to date. I love soldering and wiring things up. The finished look was exactly what I wanted. Plus more room to see out the back glass.

Ring assembled and leds installed
