Missed your comment Dr...thanks for the input. It's one of those things that's personal preference, but I definitely don't want to spend money twice. I like your suggestion and agree that some flat fenders just don't blend in well. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but definitely leaning toward the stubby.

Nice build. I wish I lived closer for when you swap out the flares. I would purchase your painted ones in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the compliment on the build. There's so much I want to do and either not enough time or money!

regarding flares. I would definitely sell them if there was an economical way to safely package and get them to you!

I'm still undecided though, so dragging my feet on this project. I'm pretty sure I will go with Nemesis Industries, but struggling with powder coating (gloss or flat) or color match (pricey).

Thanks! I purchased the brake line guides from Exploration Outfitters:

https://explorationoutfitters.com/pr...line-guide-kit

Honestly speaking though I would probably recommend the TeraFlex guides:

https://explorationoutfitters.com/pr...line-guide-kit

I also bought the TeraFlex but haven't had a chance to install them. One thing though that I do like about the guides from Outfitters is that it provides for maximum travel within the guide. The TeraFlex will definitely keep the line out of the spring, but may limit flex as the line is anchored and stationary.

Finally got around to installing the wheel adapters. Went with the 1.5" SpiderTrax. Install was straight forward, most challenging part is removing/reinstalling the heavy 37"'s.

While I had minimal rubbing with the 13.5" tires without adapters, it seems that kicking them out 1.5" created noticeable rubbing on the outside inner-edge of the front stock bumper. This gave me a good reason to go with the stubby look. I'm headed that direction anyway with a new bumper, so this gave me a chance to see how it would look. I also like the wider stance of the jeep, although subtle it's nice. handling is great as well.

I had a little time yesterday to complete another project that had been sitting around for a while. Finally got around to installing Tuffy's Conceal Carry Security Drawer.

A pretty straight forward installation. I did opt to install the bolt through the body to provide additional security and stability for the drawer. it was a bit of pain, but simply removing the entire seat and moving it forward provided easy access to where the hole needed to be drilled. A second pair of hands is necessary to tighten things down underneath, but overall pretty simple.

Glad to have something a little more secure to, well, you know, hide, secure and conceal those things that should be. Overall impressed with the construction and durability of the drawer. I'll probably add some non-skid foam padding inside to provide cushion and to keep things from rattling around inside.

Summer Build Phase I

First phase to the summer build will be starting up this weekend and next. I decided to focus on the front and rear bumpers to begin, and then will move on to the flares and rockers towards the end of summer. I'm looking forward to the transformation from the stock bumper and flare look to a more customized look. Here's what I have coming this week for the first part of the 'Summer Build Phase I'.

Well, no sooner do I make the post above and look what happens to get delivered. A little sooner than expected which is great, but caught my wife by surprise. This was her text to me and expression with a few other words of encouragement.

Oops...guess I forgot to tell her. Now she will need to stand guard to make sure no other jeepers in the hood snag the goodies.
