If you're using MetalCloak's control arm length suggestion, go out an additional 1 1/2 turns on the front upper control arms and an additional 1 turn on the upper rear control arms. Their measurements are for the 3 1/2" springs. One turn was suggested by MetalCloak as a starting point when I called them about '15 Hard Rock 2 door but after I had it aligned, a 1/2 turn out more on the front uppers brought it to 5 degrees of caster which is what MetalCloak recommends.
I actually went with 1 1/2 additional turns out on the left front upper and 2 turns on the right as having just a lit more caster on the right helps with road crown.
When you get all the bumpers, spare tires and winch, you'll want to check your track bar length front and rear as well.

~That~ is some great information!

I wasn't sure where I'd wind up on bump stops, so figured I'd start out conservatively. Glad to hear that I can drop one at each end.

Much obliged for the arm length suggestions. I thought the MC lengths were probably for the 3.5", but never asked. I'll post up my finals after the alignment.

Thanks again for sharing your experience. Very much appreciated, scj64!

You're welcome!
The rear adjustment gets the driveshaft aligned better to keep it from vibrating and the front keeps the jeep from wanting to wonder with the bigger tires installed. After the front adjustments, it tracks much better at speed especially when you hit big bumps and pot-holes.

Pulled the Jeep out this afternoon and adjusted the upper control arms (thanks again scj64). While I was at it, gave the lift a once over - checking torque on everything, and verifying exhaust clearances after the spacer install.

Everything looks good.

Super happy I went with the full Game Changer system, I love where the axles landed in the wheel wells. Couldn't have gotten there without the full set of control arms.

Put a few miles on it, and the ride is fantastic.

Now to wait for the wheels to come in.

A quick pic for posterity...

And I think we've decided on a name.

Playing on a theme, here.

We had the CJ forever. Called him "Seej".

Daughter had her TJ for nearly ten years, called him "Teej".

So, it looks like the JK will be known as "Jake".

See the pattern? haha

I am so stoked.

Coming along so nicely! I kind of liked the high water look with stock tires and a lift when I did mine. Then I installed the tires and it was a whole new world. Be ready to "hop" in. I've been looking at some rock slide engineering drop down slider steps, but the price tag stopped me. You'll have to post your experience once you get rolling on the new setup.

Thank you, Nate.

Definitely looking forward to the 'whole new world'.

We had a 4" lift and 35's on the CJ, so yeah - been climbing in and out of Jeeps for a ~long~ time...

Part of the decision to go with the 2.5" suspension was ease of entry. Mama's got little legs... And we're not getting any younger...

With that in mind, we chose the MetalCloak Flip Step rock sliders. Pricey? Yeah, they're kinda up there - but they're still half the cost of the Rock Slide pieces. Having the ability to easily flip them down for access and up for clearance is going to really be nice. I figure it'll just take a few minutes with the cordless impact. And they're pretty beefy, too.

We'll let you know how it goes.

Looking good!

With 35's on our JKU and the Metal Cloak suspension, there's no need to trim the stock rock rails.
I know you're going with new rock rails but no need to modify or remove the stock rails before your new ones get there......

Good to know that the rails won't need trimmed with this setup. I would bet that has a lot to do with getting the rear control arm length right. I've seen plenty of lifted JK's where the rear wheels (IMHO) are too far forward in the wheel wells - likely from having the RCA's too short.

Thanks again, scj64!

Time for an update...

Jake had a good day today. This post may be a bit picture heavy...

So, I fired up the heater this morning and got crackin' on the rear bumper install.

Was humming along nicely, when the 'Brown Truck of Delight' pulled up. Had five boxes from California. Way cool, as they were originally scheduled for delivery in two more days.

Finished up the bumper - took about an hour or so. Simple.

The only complaint I have is that the AEV bumper is touted as having the water tanks. No where in the documentation is it noted that the plumbing is not included. Hmm. I knew I'd be picking up a pump for it sooner or later, but didn't know the pump 'kit' has the plumbing in it. Oh well - not a big deal - just surprising.

Anyhow, the wheels are superb! All loaded up for a visit to the shoe store in the morning. I gotta send a shoutout to @Buildit , thanks for turning me on to OMF and Bones. These things are gonna look sweet!

Last look at him with the stock wheels and tires.

And here's the final on the bumper. Crazy how feeble that factory rear bumper is.

Oh yeah, I knocked out the install of the MetalCloak Rock Rails and Flip Steps the other day. Nice and beefy. And ~much~ easier for Mamma to get in and out now. Very pleased with them.

The last project for the afternoon was a decal upgrade.

Heat gun made mincemeat out of the OEM decals.

A rubdown with some glue remover and a quick cleaning, then on with the new ones.

~Much~ happier with these.

And then I had a little fun with the fender decals... haha

So, Jake had a good day today.

Off to get new shoes in the morning.

Next up should be the front bumper and winch.

Then we'll see about lighting.

Funny how you get busy and before you know it you're done - without any photos...

Thank you, my friend. ~Really~ digging the wheels. Looking forward to the new donuts in the morning.

Phase one is almost there. Still waiting on the paint from Mopar - backordered. Then I'll get the tire carrier going.

I figured I'd have some fun with the decal. So close to 'Unlimited', we'll see how often it gets noticed. haha But I did throw the mountain in there. Subtle, but after all, this ~is~ Colorado.

I think you are really going to like those rock rings. I tore up one of my wheels the other day and kept thinking I needed to just move forward with that little mod. It makes your rig a little more protected in the long run. I'm loving everything you have going here. Keep it up!

Thanks Nate!

I agree, we chose to go this path with the Sim-U-Locks and the Rock Domes, not only for the 'Bad Assery' they project, but for the rim protection they provide. Having the removable Sim-U-Lock rings allows for easy repair/replacement if I do tear one up. Pay a bit more up front, with the ability to save a bunch more down the road.

That's what I'm telling myself, anyway... haha

I got on some of my Rock Domes pretty hard in some of the rocks this last trip to Moab. They kept me off the rings, and the wheel face. I was really impressed with the way the system worked. I ended up replacing the damaged Domes when I got home, easy.

Glad to hear the Domes did their thing!

I've been pretty lucky over the years, and haven't had too much rock rash, but having this extra protection feels good.

And they look so bitchin'.

Baby's got new shoes!

Made it by the shoe store this morning. ~Very~ happy with the results.

Spent way too much OCD time figuring out lift/wheels/tires and such. But it's cool when it all comes together as planned.

Certainly not done, but have made significant progress towards the end goal.

As promised - more Jeep Porn...

Thanks again Steven, for showing me the OMF light - I love these things.

I put about 25 miles on this afternoon, and am super pleased with the drivability and ride quality. Such a far cry from the old leaf sprung CJ. haha

Hopefully we'll see the backordered paint soon, so I can tackle the tire carrier.

And eek out the time for the front bumper and winch install.

This has been a ton of fun.

Thanks Fernando!

I really like the fit of the tires and wheels. Gives it a whole new stance. Very happy with their on-road manners, as well.

I've been a fan of the bold Rubicon lettering since the days of the 10A. But they changed the style for the Recon package in 2017. Oh well, I didn't get one of those, so I guess that's a moot point.

Ordering the Rubicon decals in the gray and black was a no-brainer. Had that decision made before we brought him home. I think it adds to the overall 'Attitude'.

I've been a fan of the bold Rubicon lettering since the days of the 10A. But they changed the style for the Recon package in 2017. Oh well, I didn't get one of those, so I guess that's a moot point.

Who did you do your decals through? I've been waiting to finish as much of my mods to the body before going that route. I'm pretty close though and I think it's time to figure out who I'm going to use for the decals. Yours look very sharp.

Pixel Decals.

I called with a quick question, and Don picked up the phone, even though he was on vacation. He answered my question, and gave me an approximate ETA.

I wasn't sure what color the 'mountain' would print, as it wasn't clear to me on the website. He said he could make it whichever color I preferred, just let him know. Simple.

As I understand, he waits until he has enough orders to fill the printer before going to manufacturing. I can understand that, so no worries there.

Communication was great, and the final product is very high quality. ~Much~ heavier than the OEM decals.

Highly recommended.

@Unbalanced

Jeep looks awesome! Can't wait to see where you go from here. I recommend LS swap but may be a little new for that... Haha
