Those are still my favorite AEV wheels Jeff! The Saltas look great, but the thin lip & dish style of the savegres are much less susceptible to rock rash. I had savegres and the 12 sport and wish I had kept them.

They are growing on me. I still like saltas better but for $450 for 4 essentially new ones and $235 for the 5th one=happy.

Would you be able to send some photos please from different angles ?

I think I have narrowed it down to ST Maxx vs Nitto RG ... leaning a bit to Nitto only because they are newer and available in C load

I like the 285's I could have gotten the 315's for less than the 285's. If you saw them side by side mounted you would swear the 285/75's were slightly taller albeit narrower. I generally like bigger but these ride so nice down the highway. I am on the look out for some interco 35x10.5-17's to mount on my stock rims for when I want to play harder. I bought my jeep in November and already have 12,000 miles on it so I have been enjoying the 285's vs 315/35/s on the road trips. I have run many of the trails in Moab with 285/75's so I don't feel like I am giving up much running them. I had the st maxx's in 295/70-17 for a short while and traded to these as I liked the additional height. I have friend who has the st maxx on her rubicon in 315's and she lives across from another buddy who is currently running 295/70-17's in the st pros and he says mine look taller than the 315's. The 315's and the 285's are only a pound different in weight so if you like the fatter look go 315's if you like the narrower look the 285's are the way to go.

I appreciate your feedback! I have 315s now and they are ok on the highway but I remember my 285 were a lot better

What if I go something in between like the 305/70 and call it a day ?

cleaned up the 3rd brake light. Might have been the easiest mod ever. AEV CHMSL $51 but worth it for ease of install and how clean it is.

Hey just picked up an BW Recon and wondering what front splash guards you are running and if you looked for a set of 4? Mopar guy said they do not have any for the Recon also what sill guards did you go with; I am looking at Mopar, RR or Amazon that look identical to RR.
Prices are wacked in Canada so will wait till I get to the states.
What is the difference in coils on the Recon (+0.5 over the base Rubicon I think) and the Mopar 2" from stock? Looking to smooth the ride as the wife is complaining it makes her feel sick.
Love the ride so far.

I have 315 17 17's Firestone M/T2's and think I may try the Falcon 285 75 17's AT3W next time around. I didn't trim my rock rails and my current tires will rub when they flex.
I would try the 285 75 17 KO2's but I'm guessing they would be smaller than the Falcon's.

Mopar front splash guards and mopar sill protectors. Mopar rears won't fit exactly but some have used them. 2" Mopar coils are similar to stock ride.

That’s getting two for free.

The 34/11.5 tires are the most ideal size for the ratio of the overall size of Jeep wranglers.

I going to post the 33/11.5 km2 and the 34/11.5 trail grapplers on the 2.5 lift with 33-35 thread once I get install.

You got the right size ratio tires.
It took me two times to figure this out. Thank god km2 are soft and wear fast, only had to wait 2 yrs to get the 34/11.5 tires.

12.5 are way too fat.

I would guess the bfg are .5 smaller then most brands, for same size.
My 33s mounted are 31.5, where looks like the 34 are 33 mounted.

Right away I installed 295/70-17 Cooper ST Maxx tires on stock rims with Spidertrax spacers and an aev 2" spacer lift. using this diagram I have 2.5" lift vs your average jku.

Other first week mods include a Rubicon Express gas tank skid as that is the only skid I have really used on my last two rubicons and those did the rubicon trail, dusy ershim and several moab trips. so Pretty comfortable with just the gas tank skid for now. I also added some Teraflex lower sport arms. It drove very good without but being I was at 2.5" lift I figured another ~1.5* of caster would be good. I have used the sport arms before with great results and that is a cheap and easy way to add some caster. Only thing on the not to distant horizon will be a winch and most likely go with the VR10000 again as I bought one when they first came out and never had an issue and it made many hard snow wheeling pulls.
What size wheel spacers were you running here? Do you have the new wheels spaced out as well? I like the flush look and looking to space my wheels out similar to this.

that was with spidertrax 1.5" spacers.

My good buddy had Saltas and just put ST maxx's on in 315/70-17's and decided to trade his JKURHR on a 2019 Duramax 3500 so he called and asked if I wanted to swap my tires and wheels out for his being dealership would not know. I jumped at it as I really like the Saltas.

bought this from the my buddy who just traded his jeep. Actually one of those items that looks better in person than in photographs.

I just added the 315 KO2's and I'm so much happier than with the Ridge Grapplers. Both are C load and the KO2's are so much softer, smoother and almost dead silent compared to the RG's. Plus I like the look of the 315 vs 285's. Love the Salta's. Also, love the look of the Mopar winch guard or whatever they call it. It definitely looks better in person and compared to Maximus 3 ones its also way less expensive.

Do you even need the wheel spacers with the AEV wheels? If not I'd take them off and sell them.

I don’t run wheel spacers with aev rims but I also generally keep the stock rims to run a second set of tires and use the spacers with those.

stock recon coils vs Mopar 2" coils.

installed.
Holy you weren’t kidding when not keeping up with you on tires.
Saltas are way.
You can see in the pic that the rounder wheel make Jeep look more like new jl and overall smaller look, where the saltas make Jeep look mean and tuff.

Before I get the mopar springs, you say they are .5 inch less height then exact 2 inch spacer. Question is what difference in inch’s you think the spare tire holder weight does for the back ‘spring or spacer’ height, and for winch weight as well. Because I am looking to lower my spring/spacer height.

@thegreatwhitenorth the mopar coils are 1/2" shorter then the 2" spacers and recon coils on a 4 door. On a 2 door non recon I can not say. the teraflex spare tire holder does not weight enough to cause any difference in height. The winch maybe 1/4-3/8" of an inch. just stick something that weighs 75-80lbs on your bumper ie have a child or small friend sit on your bumper and measure how much it drops.

Yea, I had one and two spare tires/no wheel and one spare tire with wheel in back to see what 60/120 did and it was like 2/8 tops.

No matter what ways I have tried just can’t get it just right. So double spacers in front might be only way. Other then the idea of that spare tire bracket weight and put spare tire on it/when needed.

Springs,
I know we talked about springs. You have the 2.0 mopar, do you see that bend in them. You got the plastic? brace for back, why not for front springs. Does that add any height. What I am wondering, and I trust it if you say their fine, is the bend in these mopar springs. It sort of makes you feel think their going to fly out on highway bounce.

I kind of want to keep Jeep low/not high spring-height wise so it handles better and still have nice height with Jeep for looks and off roading. The 2 is better then the 2.5 and I also have to use a spacer/1 inch in front to have Jeep level. So if I could get enough articulation for off-roading I would do a 2 front and 1 back spring if anyone made that. So I am stuck having to do a 3/2 setup.

I like the look of the 34s, those 33s drive faster. Which someone had true 33s/11.0 for size or 33.5/11.0 any way to make 34s feel drive like 33s do. I already have stock 4.10 gears.

@thegreatwhitenorth I think you might be a little confused about how the coils actually work. There is no way they can fly out going down the road and the fronts typically do not bow on JK's in part to having correct pinion/caster among other things. the rear coils regardless of brand can have some bowing especially the higher you lift them unless you do something like rotate the coil perches or use wedges.
