On Friday I will be cutting my hood for the fenders and hood pins. My friend who is paint matching the side fender inserts talked me into having the hood repainted too. Everything for $180. Would be nice to have the hood completely repainted again since all of the cuts I have done to it. The paint on the edges of the cuts for my hood louver is starting wear down. If all goes to plan, the hood should be back on the jeep by Sunday with my hood louver and hood pins on. Then all that is next is wiring my front blinkers and making everything fit again!

Here is the video of lifting a friends 2015 Jeep Willys as well.

Fenders

I installed the hood pins and got the hood cut to the point where I am happy with it. Took forever but should be worth it. The hood and fender inserts are getting painted today, both color matched. I come back for Easter Break on Wednesday so then I will put my hood on and start making everything fit again!

Love the way they turned out, still have yet to put the rubber trim on the edges. I am very glad I chose to have the hood and fender inserts painted, the hood especially needed it! Passenger side of the hood turned out perfectly straight. The driver side wasn't perfect closest to the tub of the jeep, but I could not straighten the edge perfectly anymore without taking too much off the rear corner of the hood. The rubber trim will hide it anyways!

Fenders

Here is a brief video of how I installed my fenders and how I mounted my fuse box, windshield washer reservoir, etc. Also I already sold my stock front fenders which made up for a lot of the cost for the new poison spyder fenders!

CB radio

I installed the Cobra 75 yesterday, love the way it turned out. I mounted the CB behind the glove box and the connector is accessed at the bottom of the glove box, protected from weather and is hidden. I made my own antenna mount out of stainless steel and is very solid. I also have an external speaker that clips on to the windshield visor. I have the quick disconnect on the antenna so it is very simple to hook up the antenna when needed. I went for the stealthy look, and that is what I got! Doesn't take more than a minute to hook everything up when the CB is needed. Here are some pictures I took last night, I will take some other pictures of the jeep with everything on sometime and upload them as well.

Looks like a good build. I've been constantly swapping between modifications and repairs/upgrades myself. As another college student, I can't believe how much money I've sunk into mine, but I still love it.

This picture is her last Wednesday as I was chasing the ball joints and wheel hub assemblies. I ended up swapping out he calipers since I made a dumbass mistake at some point. I don't have a more recent one, although I did just have new wheels put on about 3 weeks ago.

Looks like fun! Yeah it's defiantly an expensive hobby. Only one more year of college so I'll most likely do my axle swap shortly after I graduate. Luckily, I haven't had to do any ball joints or anything like that yet.

I'm graduating in December. Only have 5 classes left and I'm taking two of them this summer. Can't wait until I'm done. Axle swaps are definitely in my future. I'd love to have at least 35s on it one day, if not 37s.

I gave the jeep some TLC and checked all the joints, fluids, ect. It is all ready for the off-road trip. I just washed it all up today, first time in a while. We are leaving for the Black Hills on the 7th after work and will be returning the 11th.

Bought an Axle!

Just bought a Ford 9" nodular rear end out of a 1973 Torino! The axle has the Torino new style large bearings as well. I got it for $175. It is not easy to find an axle like that around here. It has the heavy duty 3.25" axle tubes with flat tops.
I am going to upgrade to disk brakes and chromoly 31 spline shafts with a 5x4.5 bolt pattern. I will also be re-gearing to either 4.56 or 4.88 with a locker. If I re-gear to 4.56 I will not have to re-gear the front again. But 4.88 is the correct gear ratio for a 35" tire, but am not sure if it would be worth it. I will also have to install a SYE and a custom drive shaft. I plan on slowly building it.

Have you ever added any wheel spacers or anything like that? Your tires stick out quite a bit. Is that just what 12.5's look like? I never know cause I see a bunch of jeeps with 12.5's that don't look like that too. I want that look and I just wanna make sure I take the right steps to get it.

No wheel spacers, I have 33x12.5r15 tires on a 15x10 wheel with 3.75 backspacing. They probably stick out so far because it's a 10" wide wheel with the 3.75 backspacing.

RuffStuff has 20% off right now so I am going to order the TJ axle swap kit from them and a pinion guard skid plate. However I noticed my axle has some type of guard covering the top of the pinion, which would have to come off. Id have to take the pinion off to remove this plate but I would do that anyways when replacing all the seals and re-gearing. Anyone know what the purpose of this guard is?

Had to trim up the pinion hood in order to fit the new pinion guard. Turned out really good after the trimming. I painted the axle swap kit as well so the brackets don't rust In the meantime. Going to weld on the brackets the day the jeep goes on the lift to swap the axle in. Next up I'm going to order the disc brake kit or I'll order the gears, locker, and shafts.

ARB is 10% off at 4wheelparts.com for Labor Day sale so I think I'm going to order a rear locker for the Ford 9"

Pulled the trigger on an ARB locker for the ford 9" today for $846. Saved $95 from the sale, not bad. Still waiting to find better deals on the 4.56 gears and all that, then I can assemble the 3rd member.

I have been looking at getting the zone 4.25" lift like you have and was wondering what your opinion is on it? What shocks did you get and did you do the sye/cv?
