Thanks! Love our color! I rarely, if ever, see it around here. Is it the same up there for you?

Nothing crazy since the last update.

I just installed a QuadraTop Complete Premium Sailcloth Top. This includes factory style hardware with the Sunrider feature. I love it! It is a VERY tight fit, much tighter than my 03-06 Mopar softop was. But, the hardware on that Mopar top had been slightly damaged. Here's how it looks right this moment. Pardon the cell photo:

Hoping to get the JCR rear corner armor, rear flares, and front fenders/liners installed as time & weather allow.

Hah! I do both, brother. I have a classic 1999 Specialized FSR Elite:

I grew up MTB'ing. I just got into pavement cycling last year when I picked up my Specialized Allez E5. I mix it up during the season. I do prefer pavement now, though. I also hate cycling on the road. Thankfully we have a lot of rails to trails (Former rail lines converted to paved or hard pack gravel trails) here. Philly is also very cycle-centric and has a ton of bike lanes and even weekend road closures for "recreation" in the warmer months.

What do you ride?

I used to race MTB and CX. Used to have to train on the road and always hated it. I have a Sworks Tarmac and a Sworks Stumpjumper HT. Both old but good bikes, from back when my wife and I got them for free from Specialized. She was a "pro" World Cup XC racer, I was only good enough for CAT1. Wish I could still fin time to ride, maybe after my boys are both on pedal bikes.

Nice TJ by the way!

Now that is BA! I just got my girlfriend out on the trails for the first time in like 8 years:

We did 44 miles. I was on my road bike, she was on my MTB. Very proud of her. Dating a lady who cycles and is okay with the Jeep life is perfect. Happy to see we both have that!

Update as of this week with @JcrOffroad fenders & flares - still 1 left to install:

Thanks so much! Thus far they have been great in snow/ice, rain, pavement, dirt and sand. Haven't taken them onto the rocks yet as I need new wheels & some skids first. These tires are discontinued, though, I believe. They have been replaced by a newer version.

Latest update: Finished installing the fenders/flares and inner fenders as well (Will grab some inner fender shots later). My doggo approves:

Thanks so much! 4.56's would give me 5th gear back. I never use it and I'm just on 32's!

Thanks much! Ideally, I'd like to clear 33's with no lift, or 35's with 2" lift max. That'll keep the LCG deal in play, but give me better ground clearance for wheeling.

Thank you! I appreciate it.

The next installation: Quadratec LED Tail Lights. I may be doing that tonight when I get home, outside, in the cold. Thus, no install photos, just post-install photos.

That would rock! I usually go to Rausch Creek here in PA. I also hear AOAA is fun. I need to add some more protection (LCA skids, rocker guards, diff guards, oil pan skid) before I can hit the fun trails though! I'll keep posting progress here. Hopefully I finish and can wheel prior to picking up a JLU diesel in late 2018

Just found this thread. Nice build!

As stated previously, I would go broke quick with your job . . . even with an employee discount!

My only question is, on what page of your catalog is the dog?

Will do, sir! Rausch has always been my go to - I love it there. Will keep you updated.

I'm a bit addicted to diesels after purchasing my VW TDI several years ago. 50 MPG highway, great low end torque, 300k miles right now and just barely broken in. I was close to doing a TDI swap into my TJ from these guys:

COTY Built | Jeep TDI Conversions

But I feel just selling the TJ and the VW will work just as well. I love my TJ, but I also love road tripping. Longer road trips when you see 12-14 MPG are not great. If the JLU Diesel sees the 33 MPG highway people are saying (No official numbers I have seen as of yet), that would be the perfect Jeep road trip vehicle!

The employee discount definitely helps us build our rigs. But, as you're saying, knowing Jeeps parts are 100 yards away in the warehouse has me spending cash more often

Hah! Check your local SPCA's and I'm sure you can find her clone! Sadly, if you look a little after Christmas you should be able to find even more Huskies.

I get all my critters from the animal shelter. My Malamute passed recently after 17 years.

Currently trying to get my Blabador (Boxer/Lab) to learn how to not jump on everyone she meets.

-

BTW, you're more than welcome to send me the old flares you took off the Jeep!

So sorry to hear about your Mal. I can only hope my Husky lives that long.

Blabador - love it! Sounds like she's just a really happy pup, definitely a good thing.

Those old fenders/flares I handed off to my buddy. He had a use for them on his TJ restoration project.

I love my TJ. Out of my 10 Jeeps over the years, the most fun have been my TJ's, and my first Jeep, one of the YJ's. After owning a JKU, though, I really, really miss having the extra space and lack of repair parts being thrown at it. Road trips are life and as much as it pains me to admit it, the JKU was a great road trip vehicle minus the fuel efficiency. Now ... when it comes to wheeling? I beat the heck out of my TJ's and love every moment of it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSqNkqmY8Mg

Now the JKU ... I never rock crawled mine, but I wheeled a few out in Moab during EJS this year. When you put $100,000 into them they are madness

If room/budget allow, I may still consider keeping the TJ and doing a diesel swap (And having a JLU too :X). We shall see where I am this time next year.

You all have a great night!

I have some JCR Rocker Guards I will be installing over the next month or two as time allows. I did have a chance to install some Quadratec LED Tail Lights. They are amazing! Not only do they look great, but they are super bright - Yes, even the reverse lights! Grabbed some photos out in the snow at the dog park last Friday:
