I'm starting this build thread for really anyone in my situation. I'm 17 and one of the youngest on the forum and I got a tight budget between school and only working part-time. It'll be a slow build to get it to where I want to be, but by no means do I want it to be perfect. I just want it to be a reliable daily driver that is capable of doing very basic offloading. I've got a ton of ideas to get started on. First, getting some rivet style fender flares (I'll put image of the ones I ordered) and Second I am looking to use Rustoleum rust prevent on the interior floor as a base layer then use Bed Liner over it. Those are the first of many many ideas that I have. The one item I put a lot of money into was my Kicker sound system that consists of an 8" subwoofer and two Versa-Pods. I'll keep you guys updated along the way as I add on to Yeep.

Part 1 of Summer Rebuild - New Speakers and Supplies Coming Up!

So I decided to come home this weekend from school. I got on a train to head home at around 2:00 PM, and got home around 5:00 PM. As soon as I got home, I got to work. First thing on my list was unpacking the boxes, and organizing the supplies.

What supplies? :

- 6 Cans of Rust Reformer
- Fish Bone Offroad Foot Pegs
- Select Increments Centra-Pod with two 6.5" Kicker Speakers
- Paint Mask
- Paint Goggles

Once I got those all organized (as you will see in the photos), I got to isntalling the speakers. I have to say, the Centra-Pod Enclosure definitely gave me some troubles. I was getting a lot of air coming from the enclosure, which resulted in a rattling sound. So I went out, bought some more of the foam (I don't know the name), and stuffed it real well, and that solved the problem. I have to say, the speaker sound system seems to be compelte for me now, or atleast until I spoil myself more, but only time will tell if I decide to in the future.

I was not able to get the painting I wanted to get done this weekend done. The speakers gave me some complications that took longer than expected, so I will have to tackle that the next time I come home. I plan on bedlining the front grille of my YJ, along with the original wrangler decals that came with my Jeep.

For the inside, the next thing for me to order is the LizardSkin Sound Deadening Material, and I plan an taking on that project when I get out of school on May 3.

Another part that is on it's way is my Custom Built MotorCraft 2100 from Gronk Performance. I'm sure many of you know Gronk, but he is building me a carburetor that will maximize fuel efficiency while also giving me some more power. This new carburetor will also allow me to finally have a choke that works properly! Currently, my choke will not always work the way it is supposed too, so having that solved will relieve a lot of stress.

That's the plan and what went down this weekend! Stay tuned!!! Big changes to come for the Yeep! (She loves the weather now)

Easter Break - Time to Go to Work

Hey guys,

So it's Easter Break for me, I've been home since Thursday and am here till Monday. First off, I'd like to wish you guys a Happy Easter! I hope you guys had a good time with whatever you were doing! Second, let's talk about the build:

So I've been working nonstop on the Jeep since I've been home. It started off installing the MotorCraft 2100 on the Yeep and... it didn't quite go as planned. I surprisingly did my part compeltely fine on the install, but the kit sent to me had bad gaskets or parts on the accelerator pump diaghram and the corresponding piece underneath it. I was leaking gasoline onto my manifold at a pretty steady rate, I am just blessed that I caught it before going out on the road or else I may not be here right now. :worthy: I ended up picking up an accelerator pump diaghram from Advanced Auto Parts and replaced it on the carburetor and also added locking washers on the screws holding in the piece and it stopped that leak... but I could not get the part for the bottom, so we are still dealing with a leak there. Gronk (Gronk Performance) has been amazing dealing with the problem and expedited replacement parts to me that I will be receiving this Monday.

After this fiasco, I still wanted to continue making progress on my Jeep, so I bedlined my chrome shift knob (I hate chrome :censored: ), repainted my air scoop, corresponding grille, and lastly sanded down (BY HAND!!! This took around 2 hours) my gas tank skid plate to get off the rust, washed, and rust reformed the skid plate. It came out spectacular! You'll see in the picture I have a lot of work to do to the underside of my Jeep, so I'll definitely need to pick up a palm sander or something similar at some point to save some labor and time.

I'm very satisfied with how the painting came out. It was great practice for the huge paint job I will have when restoring the interior this summer (See above for details). A lot of hard labor but there is nothing better than seeing the finished product at the end of it all.

I hope you guys are enjoying the build, stay tuned more work coming when I get back from college May 6!!!
