87 Wrangler Project

Hey guys im a new jeep owner, i bought it to have fun fixing it up and enjoying it in the end. i might need some help along the way from other jeep owners. right now i need to replace some body parts and the floor pans. im debating on pulling the body totally off. would it be easier? and how would i go about it? i see the body mounts on the bottom but there really tight. help would be appreciated thanks!

I don't know a lot about the YJ but someone will chime in and tell you all you need to know! Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to WF! On the inside what are going with? If you roll or spray a liner it will be more durable n easier to maintain. Wouldn't even think about rugging it. Just remember prepping makes all the difference...congratz!

If u pull the body off then it is a project but I guess u can nip everything better if u do. Time is a concern but if u have it then is ok...all the mods u do is the fun part plus when u see the transformation is great...hows the under carriage? rust?

Just buy the replacement panels from QT or i've even heard of people using old hoods from cars in the junkyard. Good luck my man.

Welcome aboard! I have a 90 YJ and bought it in the same condition a year and a half ago. Did the floors and body work all at once. Opted for sheet metal instead of the molded floor panels; worked out great and much cheaper. Now, I can't see the road under me and I can put my foot down w/o fear of losing it. There's always more to be done, but a project like this will make you proud as hell. Good luck and keep us posted.
