will my dana 35 survive the 302 with a NP435 with the 205 backing it? i want to run an Aussie locker in the rear. i have taken rides and driven just about all sorts of jeeps with just about all kinds of lockers in them. detroits, lock rites, aussies, welded. this jeep will be driven on the road some days.

It may depending on how you are on the skinny petal & size of tire you plan on running. 33" tires would probably be alright but anything bigger would be pushing it. I'd consider going to a Ford 8.8. They are pretty common & cheap & depending upon the the year; have disc breaks.

Being u had the 2.5 it is more than likely u have 4.10 gears which the 8.8 is available with, unless ofcourse u have regeared ur factory axles.

Well then it sounds like were planning on building the same rig. my plans r on here somewhere, I believe under the thread "any suggestions" except I've added dana 60's to it. Hopefully u will be finished by the time I begin so u can give me some pointers. O on another note, just wondering, how old r u?

I have decided to keep the stock axles for now. my driving style is slow and steady (not to heavy on the skinny) and i hope this will maybe save some cash when i find one tons or heavey halfs i will swap

Watch those Waggy axles. Check the spline count. They could be weaker than what you've got. I read in another thread on the TJ side about another guy thinking he was getting a great deal on a set of Waggoneer 44's until someone else mentioned about the lower spline count. I just hate seeing a fellow Jeeper spend money on something they think is an upgrade & find out it was a waste of money.

Nice project. The CJ grill/hood is really a direct bolt in?
