Arrow 89 YJ Project

Instead of making a bunch of different post I will make this post and keep updating it with before and after pics on what I do to my YJ. I'm only 16 and dont know all that much, but maybe the stuff I'm doing can help someone else down the line.(since this forum is for getting/giving help) Well I'll start from the beginning and keep adding pics as I go. So i hope this is helpful and you enjoy. I began with a wax, and painted the bumper and headlight bezel's...

I'm gonna need bearing(s) in my YJ... it's making a loud winning noise, and i talk to my uncle who was a master technican for Ford. he said it's probably bearings. does anyone have any suggestions or advice? And if i do replace these I will be doing it with my uncle and probably dad, im not goin to a shop and spending an arm and a leg.

Great job, thats a good score. Nice jeep!

Also, if your going to run with the top off... leave the drain plugs out

Its really handy for me to not have carpet, I like to spray the hose right under the seats and rinse the inside out super easy. Then I shop vac the little bit that does not drain out.

My advice on the whining sound, make 100% sure you can find where it is coming from before trying to fix it... you'll save a lot in the long run. Even if you treat a mechanic to lunch and have 'em take it for a ride or listen to it and tell you whats up.

if you are good with a razor blade, then you can use that to scrape that stuff off. any residue that is left over, use goo gone, or peanut butter if you dont have goo gone

just smear if on and let it sit for a bit, then get a rag and rub it all off. might take a couple times though. the oils in the peanut butter dissolves the adhesive. i use it all the time when removing stickers and decals off cars. but you have to get the majority of all that black crap off first.

Well i will definitely try that for sure. Thats a nice little trick of the trade, thanks. Not to get off subject but i also heard the other day that if you have older headlights and they get build up(I'm not sure of what its called), but when your clear lights turn yellowish and foggy looking... the best way to fix it is to put tooth paste on it and buff them with the tooth paste... I'm not sure if it works but the person said it's what they do at some body shops....

ive never heard of tooth paste, but i can see how it would work. ive done that with my scuba goggles to clean them up after they sat for a few years. its gona take alot of elbow grease though if you dont have the power tools to do it.

hurculiner seems to be the general favorite. if you have access to a decent compressor then you can use the raptor kit from u-pol
