I would keep the power steering and add an AC delete pulley. Them you could keep the stock belt and power steering is very helpful with bigger tires.
http://www.autozone.com/cooling-heat...h&newYmme=true

I going with under-drive pulleys for some extra HP and have to change the water pump to a clockwise rotation. But I'm also keeping a spreadsheet with all the parts I'm using that are non stock to a 88 YJ.

I will re route the belt in a manner that does not reverse its normal rotation. The yj has manual steering and I am not upgrading to PS at the moment. I will retain the Chevy PS pump so that one day I can add PS.. I have looked at it carefully and found a belt route that does not reverse its normal rotation and the PS pump can be left on the engine (just unhooked) without affecting anything.

Cool, I think I over thought mind. But I got my under drive pulleys for a really good price. Good luck with the build.

How'd you make out with the wiring diagram? If you still need one I have one for 87 to 90 GMC trucks.

I've got diagrams for 1990 JY but have not had a chance to see if they match my 91.

I needed a little more clearance for the exhaust so I built and installed some lift shackles (1/2") and bought some wagoner leaf springs to lift it 2" and move the front axle forward 2" I have not put on the waggy springs yet but I will get to it soon.

I installed the springs last night everything went well I need to order a set of U-bolts I got one on each side now. I Had to remove the track bar. But the steering didn't need modified. I may get a drop pitman arm later after I test drive it. It lifted 2 1/2" and increased the wheel base by 2"
Here are pictures of before and after.

Its cooled off outside and I started doing some more work to the jeep.
I installed an Ac delete Pulley. I could not reroute the belt around the power steering pump And nobody Makes a power steering delete pulley. So I modified (Destroyed) the PS pump to make it work like an idler pulley. But in the end it works great.
I got the Novak Aluminum radiator installed.
I had trouble finding a Radiator hose that would work. But in the end I used the top hose off a ford truck On the bottom of mine (Fit Like A Glove). And used a Rubber flexible hose from AutoZone for the top.
The Novak radiator Did not have a connector for the heater hose return but it had a Threaded 3/8" npt hole. So I ordered a 3/8" npt To 5/8" hose connector from summit racing. Its ready for coolant now.

I have a Mounting bracket from advanced adapters for the transmission. But after it setting around for so long I lost 2 of the rubber "bushings". Yep just my luck But I called advanced adapters and ordered replacements for 4$. Hopefully I can get them in soon and be done with that.

I will need to get another rear drive shaft. I Plan to order A Double Cardan shaft from Tom Woods. But before I do I will install Rubicon Express 2 1/2" rear lift springs. Currently my rear axle yolk and T-case yolk is parallel so I will also order some wedges to point the rear yolk up.

I also got the wiring harness all hooked up to the engine.
I hooked power to the Directly battery (for testing) Will tie into proper place after I test everything.
Connected ground strap from block to frame.
I hooked up (jeep) Fuel pump wires to Chevy Harness.
Fuel injectors will not pulse. If I jump ground to the injector it will spray.
It will start only if I spray starter fluid. Or connect Ground to injector momentarily. (it floods if I keep it hooked up)
Any Ideas on how to get these injectors to pulse???

I believe you have the Chevy ECU and are applying power and ground connections to the ECU? If not you need to confirm which pins on the ECU need battery voltage and which pins require ground connections (there may be more than one of each).

Most injectors get power all the time but the ECU provides the ground path to "fire" the injectors. By grounding the injector you are basically opening it (therefore flooding). The ECU requires power to its brain (in addition to the sensor inputs) to control how long (in milliseconds) the ground is applied.

I installed a Howell kit on a 304 for a friend (Chevy computer n TBI) and had the same problem. If I'm remembering this project right, the injector gets its signal from the coil (white wire on the Howell harness) and we had a bad connection at the coil. Don't know if factory Chevy is the same or not but maybe.

I have installed the front driveshaft.
I replaced the heater core and did the Chevy blower upgrade.
I towed it to the exhaust shop and had new 2.5" true duels with 40 series flowmaster installed.
I towed it to a guy that will finish my wiring. She should be on the road Saturday...

What is the "Chevy blower upgrade"?
I will be curious how you like the 40 series mufflers, I went with the 50 series but I also ran a single exhaust - 2 1/2 pipes off the rams horn manifolds to a Y with 3" back/through the muffler all the way out the back.

Well I had sent the jeep to a guy who was supposed to do my wiring but after almost 6 weeks he had not touched it so I towed it home and did it myself..
I Ordered a Chevrolet factory wiring diagram from ebay for 40$ after studying it for a while I found my problems and got it wired up..
I fired it up for the first time 5 days ago. I got it inspected yesterday and it passed. (Good thing they didn't open the hood).
I've still got to finish some small items but id say the swap was successful.
