95 XJ Dana 30 swap

Hello I have a 87 YJ and wanted to replace my Dana 30 2 piece axle with a Dana 30 1 piece from a 95 XJ. How hard is it and what all do I need to do? Just the leaf spring perches? Any help or advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

You can do a CAD delete and run a 1 piece shaft in the axle you have now. I am not 100% sure on all XJ dana 30's but i think they might all be high pinion. If they are low pinion you would be downgrading so be sure to check and make sure if you do swap one in.

Also your front driveshaft will spin all of the time and if you have lift shackles or a transfer case drop or motor mount lift you could throw the drive angles out of whack and it will vibrate and ruin front drive shafts (been there done that). You should upgrade to a CV shaft in the front and make sure your pinion points at your transfercase yoke for it to run smooth.
