My 89 Wrangler Project

Thanks in advance to those of you who show patience with me.......... lol

10 years ago I bought a 1993 Mustang GT from a buddy of mine and it became my project car.................... turned out very well.

Well a week ago I bought an 89 Wrangler. Forgive me for my ignorance but here is a list of what I think it is.

Straight 6
5 Speed
2.5 Lift Kit (SkyJacker)
31" x 10.5" tires

Here a few of my issues:
1) It seems as thought the lift kit has causes the tranny some headaches.
I have to hold it in R or it will pop out. All other gears seem "stiff"

2) I have a vibration every 10 seconds or so under neath me.

3) It is gear pretty low; 5th gear (1800 rpms) I go about 7 mph.

4) My break pedal needs to be pumped so that I have brakes (Master cylinder?)

I would really appreciate all of your help, I love my new toy!

Thanks
Mike

you could be correct but i was assuming that it moved both because mine does not stay in reverse either

mk, the t-case drop drops the transfer case down, this could move the transmission i guess. then there is a MML which pivots the whole motor/transmission/t-case down.

i think

Possibly a bad trans mount or loose exhaust

Are you sure it's not stuck in 4Low?

Air in your brake lines. Bleed your brakes and check for leaks.
