My Rear Dana 44 Project

Getting 5.13 gears and a Detroit Locker New bearings and seals. Oh and Disk brakes.

what vehicle dod that come out of? How did you strip it Sandblaster?

1987 wagoneer. Nope all by hand, no one I know has a big enough blasting cabnet. I used por-15 there cleaner and metal prep, then used there bear metal grey paint.

That cleaned up really nice. Did you get the front axle to go with it?

Yes I did, and i've started working on that also. I don't like the dana 44 hub/rotor thing. The dana 30 allows you to remove the rotor and replace/turn it with out messing with the bearings. I'm not looking forward to the next time I have to do a brake job. Although they are made for a much heavier vehicle so I dont think I'll have to do it as often.
