My Tonka build

Hey guys/gals
new to this forum been peeking around here and decided to join. I belong to a few other forums on the net for jeeps and liked the idea of a wrangler specific one.

I bought my jeep stock and have been turning wrenches and sinking money into it nonstop since.
There have been alot of beer, blood and swears that have gone into this build.
I do all the work myself and like to build rather then buy.
Here are some pics of my jeep along the way. I will add more pictures when I have more time. Just wanted to get my thread started.

The picture in the add on autotrader

What it looked like when I got it home

After new rims and a soft top and I got rid of all the pinstriping gettin it ready for paint.

Acouple shots in primer, with my new tail lights and some 31's, got rid of the bumperettes and the chrome grill slip.

Here is is fresh out of paint, we painted it in our garage at home, total cost of the new pain job was less then 300 dollars. I also got new seat covers for my spice colored seats. I used rattlecan paint to do the interior instead of buying a new dash and door panels.

A homade bikini top that I made for 20 dollars and a CB4 tire cover that I painted as well.

I bought some soft doors and made a front stinger.

I also trimmed my stock flares and added some fog lights.

Mounted my highlift on the hood with homade mounts.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I bought the BL from performance accesories, I didnt want to mess around with a homemade BL, my mom bought it for me for my birthday I asked for the 2inch but she bought the 3inch(I know)
When I do my engine swap I am going to make MML so I can to a belly-up. And I was thinking of raising my gas tank an inch and making a drop in storage area under my rear seat to store some tools. The same idea as the JK's. I made a slip cover for the rear out of sheet metal so you cant see the lift. I would have returned the 3inch if my 4inch Rough Country springs hadnt sagged so badly. I am currently talking with Ryan at RC to see if he will ship me out some new springs.

I just went for it. Bought the fabric and cut it out layed on the jeep. All in all it was about 30 bucks worth of fabric. I used the stock soft top windshield channel. I used door trim molding from an old sidekick to secure the front. I sewed thin fabric to the bikini so that it would tuck inside the trim on the front header. and used velcro to hold the sides on. Pretty basic.

So I thought you guys might like this, I saw an H3 in the parkinglot and decided to make it look really small.

Oh and check out what I got for free today, I bought some hard half doors for 200 bucks of an old jeeper and he said he had some doors behind his shed if i wanted them i could have them. They just need some elbow grease, they have the panels too one set is black one is spice.

Nice ride, but isn't a Tonka supposed to be yellow?

How did you paint the body? It looks really good, man!

Also, can you open your hood with out problems with the Hi-Lift attached? And does the hood "sag" or droop in because of the hi-lift? (They're about 30-40 lbs, right?)
