Snorkel build

I decided to build my own snorkel, Saw this in another forum ,dont remember where but he did a great job ,I wish I could take credit ,but this is how I did mine.
Ive been building things as long as I could remember .and always utilizing whats around me or readally availble. It works for me .
1st heres a pic of the orignal.
when I bought my YJ it had a beat up tube bumper on it .wasnt long and had built a new one out of 2x4 sq.found on CL for $20
tried to give it away with no luck ,looking at this ugly bumper and wala there the tubing for my snorkel,at least the start of it .cut it off then cut it in half rotated the 90s and miged it back together
2nd pic

Now I have to cleanout my pics on here to have more room

My problem is I have the cj mirrors and kc lights by my windshield. I'm Defiantly gonna have to lose the mirrors and get the safari ones.
And is that being on the driers side in your way or annoying at all?

Not really any differance in vision loss ,ya had to loss the mirror relocate brackets which they sucked to begin with ,as for the lights Ill build a new set of brackets for those. getting ready to go out to the garage and start on the scoop.
I guess Im getting old, I would rather drive with the half doors on .I like the arm rest.

So I'm assuming 3" pipe would be the best option?

Ive been cracking up seeing the YJ in the Pool, Glad there wasnt any major bodily harm done.sorry for the jeep.
back on topic.
1st havent hooked up to airbox yet

2nd 3" tubing .I guess Summit has a kit with mandrel bent 90s and a straight section. Ill see if I can find it .

I didnt get a chance to work on the Jeep today ,got called out to work.

here is some more pics of what Ive already done ,and the option of the Chinese made top for 50 bucks .Im still leaning towards the origanal ARB ,China gets enough of our American money

I made a mock scoop out of foam ,going to use 2x4 sq tubing. cut up and reconfigured .
I love my Mig

Got the welder out today, heres what I have so far.
went down Monroe Muffler and got them to expand a piece of the tube bumper to fit over the 3" pipe on the Jeep.
then stated fitting al the parts together .at first I made the scoop to long, icut it back 1.25" I think it looks better now .need to find a small section of epanded metal for the screen.Ill be building the front frame in the morning
Let me know what ya think .junk it /get the ARB or run it ,Its different

I Deff want to put one on my but I think my light bar is in the way. ...Do you guys loose any power with the snorkel with more 90' turns and a longer pipe the air has to go through.

Dont forget

Looks good so far, just don't forget to seal components and such (distributor, etc..) under your hood or the snorkel will have been made in vain the minute you dunk too deep in the water.
