YJ SOA madness

Last year I acquired a 94 YJ with a Chevy 350, TH350 NP231C, then I deployed for a year. The tranny was bad so I had it rebuild. Pulled the motor and got it cleaned, painted, and did the basic tune-up. It was running a very bald set of 33/12.50s but I got a set of 35/12.50s for a good deal. It was still running stock axles so I just babied it. The weather is getting nice so itís time to start really doing some stuff to it. Iíve planned on swapping in an 8.8 and going SOA. Planning on keeping the Dana 30 up front and upgrading the brakes and axles shafts. I pulled the Dana 30 out a week ago and started tearing into it. Iíve got it completely stripped (except for the pinion) and itís at a buddy's to have the perches welded on. In the meantime Iíve been collecting parts to do the WJ brake swap and trying to find a passenger side one-piece axle for the swap. I might need to get the driver side also. I can get the axle nut off. I have tried everything, except using the jeepís weight because the axle is on jack stands. Heat, PB, impact, cheater bar, tighten/loosen. Iíve pretty much given up on that. I did discover that the previous owner did install a lunchbox locker (unknown brand) in the Dana 30. Iíll go pick up the axle tomorrow and then I will just be waiting on all the parts to arrive. The more I read the more I learn and sometimes that doesn't help. Not quite sure how all of this is going to work out but it should be excited build this jeep. As I wait for parts to come in I am going to get the axle cleaned up and painted. Black for the axle and red for the diff cover.

Ford 8.8 4.10LS disk brakes
WJ knuckles
WJ brakes
WJ ball joint x4
Napa 11800
Driver side axle seal
Wheel hub x2
JKS spacer x2
Heim Joints 5/8 x2
Heim Joints 3/4 x2
Heim Joint DOM inserts x4
Heim Joint safety washers x4
Heim Joint misalignment Spacer x4
Ten Factory axle tube seals
Dana 30 gasket
RE anti-wrap spring perches Dana 30 x2
RE anti-wrap spring perches 8.8 x2
8.8 spring pad x2
8.8 shock mount x2
8.8 U-bolts x4

Still needed:
Rotors (zj or crown vic)
xj, zj, tj, axle shafts
ľ spacers for brakes

I think I have a fairly good grasp of how this is all going to work out. The only two things I am really worried about is my driveshaft lengths and steering linkages. Regardless, this puzzle is going to have to wait until my boxes of parts arrive.

good luck with the dana 30. We did the ford 8.8 4.10 limited slip. Went with Barnes4wd set up for u bolts perches and shock mount. Went spring under. The ford 8.8 has been handled the chevy 355 high compression build but man the dana 30 is out now. Gonna go 79 dana 60 now front and rear soa. You might want to at least go dana 44 up front with the ford 8.8

I got the barnes stuff for my 8.8. Curious where did you put your shock mounts.

Picked up the dana 30 with my perches welded on and had my JKS spacers welded on my WJ knuckles. Ive been away from home for the last week (parts have been showing up) so no much has been happening. I'll be home in a few days and the build will continue.
