Our first day of JK ownership, in 2016!

Greetings, All,

After surviving a high speed head-on collision in our 2003 Jeep Liberty, we decided that it was the excellent, and very strong frame of our Jeep, and the Grace of God, that I was not killed. So, we went out searching for a new Jeep, and wanted something bigger, stronger, and nicer than our Liberty. Here's our then brand new 2016 Wrangler Sahara Unlimited, after we bought it!! This was taken by our Salesman, and sent to us as an email; Here's our then brand new Sahara, and us, before we drove it off the lot:

We loved this great vehicle as soon as we drove it, and now, after almost two years, we love it even more!! This is a perfect combination of comfort, performance, power, and reliability, and we are very happy to own our beautiful JK!!

By the way, for those of you with strong constitutions, here is the injury I sustained in that collision. The air bags did not inflate, even though both drivers were doing 40+ miles an hour when we collided, and I was thrown forward, slamming my head into the windshield frame, and hitting the steering wheel with my chest. My left leg flew underneath the dash, where the tiny micro-switch that turned the alarm off and on, punched through my blue jeans, and into my lower calf, making a huge gash through which I could see my own tibia, and watch the muscles more fore and aft, as I flexed my foot!! Nasty looking thing, to be sure. So, if you don't wish to see this sort of stuff, please don't click the link!!

After some interesting suturing, done by a Nurse Practitioner who had been a Combat Medic in Afghanistan, and some Heavenly Intervention, my wound finally closed, and is fully healed now. I have complete feeling in that area, too, which is a true blessing.

Had I been driving our Toyota Tacoma 2WD, instead of the Jeep, I am certain I would not have survived that crash!! So, Jeep earned our business, and we feel as safe as we can be in our Sahara!! Thanks for checking out our "new" Jeep, and God Bless!

Every Good Wish,
Doc

Old Dogger,

Thank you, very much, on both counts, Sir!! Much appreciated, and I, too, am very glad that I survived that collision, too. The Highway Patrolman who helped me afterwards, told me he was amazed that the gash was all that I got, other than being sore as heck for a while!! Our Sahara rides like a dream, and though we loved our Liberty, this JK has it all over the Liberty, in spades!! Thanks, again, and God Bless!

Every Good Wish,
Doc

All,

Sorry for the double-posts. I called Old Dogger by the wrong name, and tried to edit my post. Now I see that I can't do that. With more posts, will I be able to at some time in the future. Not for this one, but for future fumble-fingered mistakes? Thanks!

Good Evening, Old Dogger,

Thanks, very much, for the information, Sir! Much appreciated! Thanks, also, for removing my other post. I now understand about the editing privilege, and will happily wait for my 15th post, or so, to come around. Every Forum has similar rules, but some are very different. In any case, thanks, again. I am a pretty patient guy, all said and done, and am content to wait until I earn my privileges here. Take care, and God Bless!

Every Good Wish,
Doc
