Talking Painting The Stock Bumpers Black

Hello everyone! So I wanted to change the look of my stock 2015 JKU X Edition bumpers without going out and buying new ones. It was definitely more work then and harder then I thought it was going to be but once I got it down on the front bumper the rear went faster. I tried to paint them black but it didn't look right because of how textured the plastic is. I ended up doing a lot of sanding, priming with filler primer, and then plasti dipping it black with a gloss finish. Overall I am happy with how it turned out and its definitely different from other jeeps driving around. If anyone wants to know exactly how I did it just let me know. Let me know what you guys think and if you have any suggestions or need any help! Thanks for taking a look!

P.S. Sorry about the sideways pictures, I'm not sure how to get them straight.

Interested to know if in time they keep their color. Looks good! Was wanting to do something to make my bumpers and fender flares the same color. I have a black jk with a soft top so lots of different shades of black. Again looks good.

Thanks for the comment! I have found if you enough layers of dip and gloss it as well, it tends to keep its color well. I dipped my wifes lincoln wheels in black with gloss and they held the same color for two years and it looked great after a wash each time. I even traded it into the dealership with it on there because they liked it so much. I will be interested to see how it holds up with rocks hitting it and stuff but I put a lot of layers on to make sure it was thick so we will see! Thanks again!
