The manufacture on my hoist said Hoist. It was a gift and my husband went with the electric one vs the crank. Yes it was more expensive but we thought it was worth it!

It was only ~$125 or so. You could piece something together that would even be less but I wanted a proven system that I could trust.

Iíve only used it 5-6 times or so but itís so easy to do by myself. I love it.

Built a rolling cart

Took the top off the 2 door with my pops help, carried it up to the front door, placed it on the cart just inside the door and then rolled it over to itís safe place.

Will be installing a hoist in my car (jeep) port soon.

Rolling hardtop storage FTW. Most expensive part are the casters ($8-10 per wheel at Home Depot).

My garage has a 9 foot ceiling, but it has a side addition that increases the square footage and lets me fit one more car. The roof beams in the addition are angled down so the ceiling is much lower.

My lifting system consists of four eye bolts and four ratchet straps. This lets me remove/replace and store the top. When it's hanging there, I can park other vehicles under it.

This is where my doors and top live for most of the summer. You can see below that my little Hyundai Accent fits under the top with no problems. This is a great system for anyone with a garage that has a low ceiling.

Also using the 'ol 4 eye bolt contraption. 0 Issues thus far, and total investment was less than 20 bucks and 15 minutes of my life...

Here's mine. Just tie straps and eye hooks. Just took it off myself a couple weeks ago. Much easier to put it on with 2 people though...

I'm hoping to build a rolling cart myself with wood and casters. This is my first Wrangler and I haven't taken the top off yet. Is it safe to lay the top vertically on the lift gate? Will this damage the wiper or glass?

Anyone have plans for a diy cart that will store the freedom panels, doors, and top for a 2 door?

Wow...so the hardtop storage system works well, but apparently my photo posting skills don't - not sure why my pics got posted upside down. Sorry about that, will try again... -Steve
