Rhino Pics

Here's one decent picture of my 2016 Rhino Rubicon! I will get some more, and hopefully be a bit taller soon!

It's a beaut. I'm scheduling my pickup of the same this week.

Wow, looks great! Reminds me of that steel blue color that was available for a year or two in the early JK days... I don't remember what it was called. Always liked it though.

edit: apparently it was called steel blue? lucky guess...

I'm dying to see more pics. How would you describe the color in relation to anvil?

Thanks for the compliments! I love the color a lot! I have been waiting for a decent day for some other good pictures! In relation to anvil... I was planning to get an anvil, but missed the order deadline by weeks! I am very pleased with Rhino... I dare say... I like it even better! But I do prefer the darker colors in general. I am planning to install a 4.5" Rubicon Express LA kit with some 37's. It is going to take me just a tad longer than originally anticipated, but hopefully in a few weeks I'll have it together!

Rhino color description

Sorry, just realized I never actually gave a description! It is kind of along similar lines as anvil, but MUCH darker. SillyWillys is not far off. I would say steel blue is a fair description. Kind of a charcoal gray mixed with a little of the anvil color! During overcast days or at dusk/dawn it looks very dark gray, but in the bright sunlight that little bit of blue undertone really starts to show itself! I haven't pulled out my microscope, but I don't see any trace of metallic in the paint, and I love it! Was a little nervous while waiting on it to show up... No worrying necessary! It is a great color (IMHO, of coarse)!

Thanks for th detailed info. When I was first getting my wrangler last May I didn't want Anvil because I kept feeling different each time I'd see the color. Afterwards, when I got a different color, I began really digging anvil. My mom has one, and I love it. I just wished there was a little less blue and more gray. It sounds like Rhink has everything I want. Oh, and thank God there is no metallic.

It's hard to describe the color. It's a dark gray with a blue cast - more blue in the sunlight, a bit purple in the late afternoon and almost black at dusk. The change in color is very nice.

I'm really happy with it.

My wife has never owned (or even ever considered) anyting but black cars, but even she likes the Rhino color. It looks black in low light, I'm really happy with it.

Definitely try to see it in person, though. Pictures don't really capture it because it can look different depending on the light.

Here is some under lights at night. Btw, I ordered some Dr Color Chip to have on hand. The color code PSQ is labeled as Anchor Gray in their system. We'll see when it gets there. The color is a mix of black, white, and a version of blue.

Lifted Rhino!!

Sooo, I was gonna do my lift and tires next month, but who's got time to wait for that!? 😁 It is a Rubicon Express 4.5" Long Arm (4-link) kit. Fuel Trophy wheels wrapped in Toyo Open Country M/Ts 37x13.5x18.

Here is another angle taken moments after the side view... Just to better illustrate the effect looking at it from a different angle can have on this paint. I love this color!

A friend who is something of a history buff described the color as almost a "Prussian Blue." It's probably a bit more gray than that, but Prussian Blue certainly sounds awesome - at least as good as Rhino.

By whatever name, it's the best-looking car color I've ever owned.

It's really true that the color can look very different depending on the light and angle.

Awesome Color. I'm about to order a jeep and I have been so torn between this and the Granite Crystal Metallic. Great Looking Jeep Btw

Not at all. They are the ACE Engineering Rock Sliders installed underneath the factory Rubicon Rock Sliders. I got them from NorthRidge 4x4. I originally ordered them from Quadratec only to be contacted the next day to be told they'd be in stock in hopefully a few weeks. I called up NorthRidge and they had plenty in stock. $400 and built as solid as a rock......slider.

Agreed. I like the look of the Rubi sliders with the ACE. You need to find a way to cover that pinch seam. It's not a good look otherwise, IMO. I had a sport S before and hated the pinch seam.

Same here. I saw GCM on a 2dr Willy in person, need to see a Rhino. I'm going for a 4dr Willy in either color.

Keep the Rhino pics coming everyone!

Saw Rhino at a dealer this weekend and loved it.

Hard to get a good pic of the color but here are a couple.
