I'm looking for an ax15 with an external slave. Doesn't have to be great, just needs to be rebuildable.

Hello, I'm looking for a running 4.2 liter for a 90 YJ that has good oil pressure.
Any chance you've got one? They appear to be like lost treasure, lol.

Yeah, looking that way. Looks like I'm gonna have to pick one up off of Craigslist, and hope it holds together long enough to get mine rebuilt.

I need an NP231J to rebuild and install a SYE. It is for my '91 4 cyl manual. I think it is 21 spline but not sure. The numbers on the one in the jeep are 5300 8211. Can you ship to AZ?

Matt C,
From your garage profile it looks like that np231 is from a 6 cyl. so I ma not be able to use it. I'm no expert at this so I could be wrong. I think yours may be a 23 spline where mine may be a 21 spline. I'd like to compare the numbers on the ID tag on yours to see if it is doable for my application. Even if yours is different there may be an adapter available to make it work. Thanks, Gene

I'll message you the numbers this weekend. Doubt I'll be able to get to it sooner than that. But yes, it came from a 4.0 AX15 combo

Matt C,
Thanks I appreciate that. Do you know if there is a source to compare the different ID numbers on these transfer cases? If you can would you also count the number of splines on your input and output shafts. Thanks again, Gene
