Put a few hundred miles on the old YJ today, around Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead, Running Springs area. Ms. SoCalC101CJYJTJ commented about the lighting efficiency, even though I have LED’s on other vehicles. Plus, they are period correct for our “archaic” rides!!!

The epitome of “Stock as a Rock”. Very cool.

My new/old 1992 YJ. Only had it a few weeks, and still learning about it. It has a 1978 V8 304 in it. PO didn’t have a lot of finesse when it came to wiring or performance, so I’m deciding what to do with it; almost certainly ignition and carb updates. Not a mechanic by any stretch, so I have a learning curve ahead of me. But having a lot of fun taking it on my dawn photography trips. Here it is in its natural habitat!

New to me YJ

Acquired this in SE Texas a couple days ago, runs like a top. Spent a lot of time in West Texas and behind an RV.
Changing fluids and replacing a bad u joint on the front. Getting rid of the hard top and doors(anyone need them). It came with a set of 1/2 doors and a good bikini top.
No rust?dents, needs some paint and a few mods to bring it into the 21st Century.
Looking forward to shopping for a new winch bumper(have a 10,000# Superwinch leftover in the garage), a swing out rear carrier/bumper and a rim/tire swap. Has 15's on it now. Previous owner has 2" spring/shock lift. Maybe some 33x12.50's on 17" D hole wheels.
Any insight on current offerings for bumpers appreciated, I see prices from $149-700.....

Here I am!

Jeep owner since last month, a beautiful 1994 4.0 HO with some nice upgrades!!

The body and interiors have been completely renewed by the previous owner, and the frame is very solid.

It mounts a Dana 44A and 30 High Pinion, heavy duty bumpers, 4" Skyjacker lift and 2" Body lift, plus SYE, CV driveshaft and Teraflex revolver shackles (quick disconnects for sway bar too).
Just mounted 4 Cooper STT Pro tires, 33x12,5!

I really fell in love with this car, now I only have to make a lot of practice!!!

Nice looking YJ Simone. How much does a Jeep like that cost in Italy? Just to put it into perspective for us in the states.

Hi!
it cost me about 12.000$ (considering purchasing price, about 10k$, and commissions for the purchase that we have to pay each time we buy new/used cars, about 700$, and of course new tires).

Here prices are quite high and I consider myself very lucky for the deal... It is possible to find very basic YJs (no D44, rust, and more than all, no certification on the documents about the upgrades such as tires, width...) at 10k - 12k$ with a lot of undocumented kilometers on their shoulders...
Also spare parts and accessories are quite expensive, for example a DANA44 axle will cost about 5k$ (plus mounting), or a Soft top (Besttop) is about 1200 - 1500$.
Consider also that the price for a liter (1/4 of Gallon) is about 1,8$...

I found my car in the north of Italy, that ws the only one that met all my requirements at a "reasonable" price.

for any other question I'm here

Do you know any of the history of the Jeep, like where it was sold new and where it has been?

I know that it was previously registered in Germany (until 2003) where all the major modifications were made, then it was imported in Italy.
I don't know if the car was originally registered in Italy and then moved to Germany, it's a common practice because in DE it's much easier to make modifications and get all the documents to be able to circulate legally (in Italy, if you change the tire size you are an outlaw, there is no way to make the modifications legal).
All the modifications made in Europe must be accepted by the members, that's why a lot of people make the modifications in Germany...
I don't know much more about the car, I can only see that the frame is good and the engine runs great, also compared to other Jeeps that I see often.
The rear axle should come from a Grand Cherokee (Dana 44a and discs) but i cannot be sure, the Hard top comes from a CJ.

I even don't know if I have other improvements under the hood (yesterday I found out, with the support of a friend of mine that knows a lot about jeeps that the protection of the transfer case has been modified to be lighter and have more clearance)...

However, I definitely fell in love with this car
