'14 130 Radio no audio, rest good

This is a weird one for me. Only when selected radio (FM & AM) not getting any audio. Getting the artist name and song name, the "ST" indicator is lit. USB, CD & SAT work fine. Phone bluetooth works.

Pulled fuses M10 & 12, but I guess not long enough. The radio presets are still there. The book says M10 is the radio but it did not loose power. Had to pull M12 (amp) even though I have the base 1230 radio.

Too damn cold to mess with plus I am at work. Nothing like pulling fuses in 21* weather at work's parking lot. Security must think i'm nuts, well nuttier haha

Disconnected the battery for about an hour and still no workie.

Took the radio out and used the air compressor at 40psi and blew some dust out. It worked for the half hour it took me to put it back together and clean up.

One thing I did not check was if the fan on the side was working. If it happens again, then I will be on the search for a 430 non-nav

I read your post yesterday and thought maybe the radio was just bad. I was waiting to see if someone else had some more constructive advice. But yeah, the stock radios do go bad and I've seen some other people here with similar problems. It sounds like you did your due diligence so at least you can eliminate the chances of it being some easy fix.

I would consider replacing with an aftermarket unit. You can find them in all budgets, but really you can look forward to better performance and reliability with something from Pioneer, Kenwood, etc. Also if you listen to a lot of radio the Pioneers still seem to have a great tuner and will pull in stuff that the stock radio wont. Check out Crutchfield and they can get you set up with the right stuff.

The radio really isn't that much of a deal, I hardly listen to it. Luckily the USB still works. I am looking for a 430 for the harddrive.

After the trouble shooting yesterday I thought that blowing out the dust was it. Going to work, the radio quit about a mile from home. Switched over to USB again. For S&Gs I switched back to the radio after about 5 min a it was back. Thinking that it might be a heat thing, I drove without heat and cold blowing through the vents (18* outside). After another 5 min put the heat to full blast on recirculate and it did not shut off for the rest of the 20 min drive.

After going for a break, jumped in the Jeep and nothing. On the second break jumped in and it worked. Couple min later, silence in the middle of the song. Looked at the volt meter I have installed and it was 13.2.

I give up.

Those symptoms sound like it could be as simple as bad solder joints on a PCB. Or it could be something more complicated. The problem would be getting a tech to fix it. Everything now is small surface mount components that are a lot harder to resolder without a machine or a lot of time. Your plan for a new '430 is probably a good one.

Just seen another post about the same issue and 2 other chimed in with the same issue.

I just replaced the 130 with a 430rbx off CL. So damn simple to do.
Yank the panel below the steering wheel off, remove 2 7mm screws
Take the rubber mat out of the top cubby, remove 1 7mm screws
Pop out the window up/down control panel or cubby hole if no electric windows, remove 1 7mm screw
Lower the steering wheel and remove the panel (peg and hole on top)
Remove 4 7mm screws that hold the radio in
Pull out the radio, there are some grounding fingers that require a lil umph

Install is the reverse.

Few youtubes out there.

If you do the same make sure it is a fast buss speed.
