2 Batteries in parallel different case temperature

I have 2 X 12volt AGM batteries in parallel, same make, same characteristics. I also keep them topped off with a low current smart charger.

When I touch the top of the batteries or the terminals with the bare finger, I can detect a slight difference in temperature on one of the batteries. i.e. one is cool ambient temp, the other is slightly warmer.
Is this indicating that the warmer battery is going bad or has an internal short ?
When I isolate the warm battery, it still seems to maintain the slight temp diff overnite

By slight difference... do you mean 5 degrees....10...20......30?????

The difference could be as simple as internal resistance differentials due to manufacturing tolerances......or as complicated as dielectric breakdown...... depending on the amount of temperature difference....
